Die approbierte Originalversion dieser Diplom-/Masterarbeit ist an der Hauptbibliothek der Technischen Universität Wien aufgestellt (http://www.ub.tuwien.ac.at). The approved original version of this diploma or master thesis is available at the main library of the Vienna University of Technology (http://www.ub.tuwien.ac.at/englweb/). MASTERARBEIT Foundations for Music-Based Games Ausgeführt am Institut für Gestaltungs- und Wirkungsforschung der Technischen Universität Wien unter der Anleitung von Ao.Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Peter Purgathofer und Univ.Ass. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Martin Pichlmair durch Marc-Oliver Marschner Arndtstrasse 60/5a, A-1120 WIEN 01.02.2008 Abstract The goal of this document is to establish a foundation for the creation of music-based computer and video games. The first part is intended to give an overview of sound in video and computer games. It starts with a summary of the history of game sound, beginning with the arguably first documented game, Tennis for Two, and leading up to current developments in the field. Next I present a short introduction to audio, including descriptions of the basic properties of sound waves, as well as of the special characteristics of digital audio. I continue with a presentation of the possibilities of storing digital audio and a summary of the methods used to play back sound with an emphasis on the recreation of realistic environments and the positioning of sound sources in three dimensional space. The chapter is concluded with an overview of possible categorizations of game audio including a method to differentiate between music-based games.

This work has proposed that purpose, to separate the essential data for selection and training high performance athletes in the perspective of major international competition. Methods. As research methods I used the case study, observation and statistics. Results. For the final selection to the Olympics, to accede to one of the medals, the athlete’s performance should be over 2.30 m. If we have several athletes with special performances, we should focus primarily on those with a richer experience, with several international competitions, so a little older. Conclusions. In 2 of the 5 Olympics, the performance for the first place is equal to the average top, which confirms first hypothesis. The top average age is 24 years and 7 months which confirms the second hypothesis. The third hypothesis is confirmed with the observation that for the Olympics the performance is the supreme criterion, the height isn’t a decisive criterion (there are medalists with height below top average). The hypothesis of the athlete’s weight isn’t confirmed, recording an average of 77,36 kg. We only have significant correlation between athlete’s height and weight. Key words: athletes, performance, statistics. Introduction the essential data for selection and training high The present study is an analysis of the finalists performance athletes in the perspective of major from the last two Olympics and the first three of the international competition.

UNITED FRIENDS of the CHILDREN Preparing Foster Youth for a Future That Works ANNUAL REPORT 2013-14 JULY 2013 » JUNE 2014 QUALITY CONSISTENCY IMPACT GROWTH QUALITY CONSISTENCY IMPACT GROWTH So much has happened at UFC this year! In addition to providing our youth and alumni with quality services and support, we have been expanding our housing and education programs, serving an even greater number of foster youth and setting the foundation for future growth over the next several years. » College Readiness served a record 500 students with the generous support of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Youth were engaged at a higher level this year with many more attending Saturday workshops and college tours which helped to create a college-bound culture in our students and caregivers. » College Sponsorship accepted its largest class of 50 students in the spring and served a total of 241 students at four-year colleges across the country. We shored up our support for students by offering on-campus “office hours” at local universities where we have a high concentration of students. » Pathways added 15 new permanent housing units for our Education and Pathways alumni so they can find stable housing after leaving our programs. We began redesigning the Pathways Alumni Program and prepared to add 35 new beds to Pathways in January 2015. As always, we need the support of our partners—people like you—to continue to grow our programs, keep the same quality and consistency we are known for, and work with our youth to create successful futures. Thank you for your commitment to UFC—we look forward to continuing our relationship and are excited about the future direction of UFC! Pathways Housing Program CHARLETTE Charlette had many obstacles to overcome when she joined Pathways in December of 2012—struggling to take care of her son and move 110 residents received forward with her goals.

MASTER THESIS The Impact of Gender Equality in Film Festival Management on the Female Representation of Awarded Film Directors Student name: Feline Koelemij Student number: 511856 Supervisor: Dr. Christian Handke Second reader: Ms. Liesbeth de Strooper Master Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication Erasmus University of Rotterdam Master Thesis Date final version: 15 June 2020 The Impact of Gender Equality in Film Festival Management on the Female Representation of Awarded Film Directors Abstract This thesis investigates the gender equality within film festivals management teams and its influence on the female representation of awarded film directors. As a masculine organisational culture create a gender gap, Hofstede’s dimensions, which measure organisational cultures per country, have been used. Both the researched film festival organisations and the awarded film directors show a gender gap, which is persistent in both Europe and North America. The film festivals which have been established earlier, seem to have more female directors and executives. Film festivals with more female employees also have more female directors and executives. All in all, this research did not find a causal relationship between the gender of film festival management teams and the gender of the awarded film festivals. Nonetheless, it did find that certain aspects of the geographical location, and the longitude of existence of a film festival affects the female representation within the director and executives’
