In this six-episode series In Their Own Words, Season 2, quotes by 20th-century icons shed new light on key moments of their lives — exploring their complex personalities and illuminating their impact on history. The innovative use of quotations in combination with interviews and archival videos will take you into the lives of such greats as Elon Musk, Angela Merkel, President Jimmy Carter, Princess Diana, Pope Francis and . You’ll learn fascinating details about Elon Musk and how he went from a person of modest means to one of the richest people in the world. During his career, he has co-founded and headed numerous companies in the electric vehicle, aerospace and artifi cial intelligence fi elds including Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, OpenAI and others. Angela Merkel has been called the most powerful woman in the world. She is the fi rst female chancellor of Germany and has served since 2005. Merkel emphasizes strengthening international economic relations and has played a crucial role in managing the global fi nancial crisis and the European debt crisis. Jimmy Carter, who was president of the from 1977 to 1981, established a comprehensive national energy policy and pardoned the Vietnam War draft evaders during his term. His presidential tenure was marked by the Iran hostage crisis, Three Mile Island nuclear accident and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
