SHINE. BRIGHTER. FRANK HARRISON

CHAIRMAN & CEO COCA-COLA CONSOLIDATED

J. Frank Harrison, III officially began his career with Coca-Cola Consolidated in 1977, but his roots in the Coca-Cola system date back to 1902, when his great-grandfather, J.B. Harrison first introduced Coca- Cola to the Carolinas. Early in his career Frank worked in a number of entry level positions including running routes and operating bottling lines. He graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and in 1983 he obtained an MBA from Duke University. Since 1977, Frank has served in a variety of operational and leadership roles throughout the company until becoming Chairman & CEO in 1996.

As the fourth generation family leader of what has become the nation’s largest independent Coca- Cola bottler, Frank is focused on creating a culture of servant leaders whose values and actions honor God. Even though Coca-Cola Consolidated is a public company, Frank believes that God owns it all. He sees himself as the “chief steward,” accountable to the Owner for using the resources he has been entrusted with to make a positive difference in the lives of over 17,000 employees and their communities. In 2008, Frank and his late son James Franklin Harrison, IV co-founded With Open Eyes, a public, non-profit ministry dedicated to equipping leaders throughout the world who serve those in need, share the message of Jesus Christ and disciple believers. Frank has personally led multiple teams to the war torn country of Sudan, just one of the countries where With Open Eyes is currently focusing its efforts.

FOOTBALL TEAM CHAPLAIN UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

Jeremiah Castille, born to Joseph and Mary Castille in Columbus, Georgia is the 8th of 9 children. Growing up with older siblings gave Jeremiah the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and gave him the ability to recognize how to make the right decisions with his life at a very early age. Jeremiah also credits his good decision making with his choice to attend a Catholic school for his early education.

In the second grade, Jeremiah told his teacher, Sister Veronica, that his dream was to be a professional football player. Even at an early age, Jeremiah knew focusing on that dream helped him to continue to make the right decisions about his life so that dream could become a reality. By the time Jeremiah was in high school, he had made the most important decision of his life, to put his trust in Jesus as his Savior.

In 1979, Jeremiah received a football scholarship to the University of Alabama. God used the mentorship of Coach Bryant to help him grow from being an 18-year-old boy into a 22-year-old young man. Coach Bryant who instilled courage, discipline, vision, leadership, character, class and humility in midst of success tremendously impacted his life. In the 1983 NFL Draft, Jeremiah was drafted by the and the dream he had shared with Sister Veronica had come true. Jeremiah’s first year in the NFL allowed him to go back to the University of Alabama and finish his undergraduate degree in Broadcast Communications.

1983 proved to be a great year for Jeremiah. His dream of being a professional football player had come true, and even better, he married his high school sweetheart, Lori Jean Flakes. They soon began

growing their family and today are the proud parents of three boys and three girls, Timothy, Simeon, Leah, Rachel, Caleb, and Danielle and five grandchildren. All six of the Castille children have followed in their father’s footsteps and have attended the University of Alabama.

Jeremiah says that when he looks back on his life, he can see how God prepared him for the ministry work he does today. He knows that God used his mother and Coach Bryant to influence his life to help his fellow man. Both his mother and Coach Bryant taught him about giving to others.

Jeremiah ministered to the players during his four years at Tampa Bay and two years at the . He always saw football as a means to witness to his teammates. While Jeremiah loved football, he loved God more and after six years in the NFL, God called him out of the game. Because of his love for God Jeremiah was able to walk away from something he loved and dreamed of since the second grade with no regrets. In 1995, Jeremiah moved to Birmingham to coach and teach at Briarwood Christian High School. The experience God gave him coaching and teaching helped prepare him for his ongoing ministry.

In 1999, Jeremiah was ordained as a minister at The Church at Brook Hills and he and Jean founded Jeremiah Castille Foundation with Isaiah 61:1-4 as the foundational scripture. In 2001, Jeremiah became the chaplain for the University of Alabama football team and continues to serve in that capacity today. Jeremiah feels privileged and honored to serve the team and coaches at his alma mater, and where the dreams of a second grader came to fruition.

CEO, PURE FLIX ENTERTAINMENT

As managing partner and CEO of Pure Flix, Michael Scott has produced more than 40 movies worldwide and has helped the company become the largest faith and family movie production and distributor in the world. After founding Pure Flix with partners Russell Wolfe and David A.R. White in 2005, Scott has produced such box office hits as “God’s Not Dead,” “Do You Believe?,” “What If…,” and “The Case For Christ.” “God’s Not Dead” earned $61 million in box office receipts and is the fifth-most profitable movie of all time. He’s also produced a successful TV series “Travel the Road” (based on his brother’s extensive international ministry work) as well as “The Encounter” series. Throughout his career—as an aspiring photographer sweeping the floors of a studio one day and shooting the Oklahoma City Bombing for LIFE magazine the next—Scott has used equal measures of entrepreneurship, inspiration and faith to guide him.

The son of a pastor, Scott began his career as a professional photographer in the Denver area, before moving to Los Angeles and combining his photographic expertise with film/video work, producing national advertising spots and print work for all the major auto manufacturers. In 2005, he, Wolfe, and White formed Pure Flix as a way of filling the unmet needs of a growing Christian audience looking for quality movies on DVDs and TV. After initial successes, the three had a fateful meeting in a Mexican restaurant in 2009. “Those were tough times for a lot of us in the business …we had $12 between us and had to share an appetizer.” The meeting, however, eventually led to Pure Flix attracting investors by focusing on all aspects of worldwide distribution and moving into theatrical releases in 2010, while still maintaining its packaged media business.

24 | TRUTH AT WORK CONFERENCE 2019 MICHAEL SCOTT

After a string of successful theatrical releases, Scott in 2015 helped launch PureFlix.com, a subscription- video on demand service that provides consumers streaming faith and family entertainment anytime, anywhere. By 2017, PureFlix.com has become the largest streaming service of its kind in the country and earned the nickname “Netflix for Christians” from numerous media.

Scott, who has degrees in Theology and Applied Science (Photography/Film), lives in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Bangkok, Thailand with his wife, Siri, and son, Jerry. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, skiing, scuba diving and tennis.

TRUTH AT WORK CONFERENCE 2019 | 29 STEVE POE

SENIOR PASTOR NORTHVIEW CHURCH

Steve Poe, Lead Pastor of Northview Church in central Indiana, got his start in ministry at Caring First Church in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he pastored for 13 years. After coming to Northview Church in 1999, Steve has led with a passion for the unchurched, especially professionals and white-collar workers.

Steve started his career in the business world, first opening three restaurants and franchising two others. He also was part owner and operator of a radio station, which soon became a Christian radio station. His third business investment was to open a financial planning firm, as well as a commodity trading group. Although he loved the business world, he sensed God calling him into full-time ministry, a calling he had heard on his life since he was 16.

Steve’s background in business gives him a distinctive understanding and heart for professionals. Under his leadership, Northview Church has grown from one campus, in Carmel, Ind., to soon-to-be nine campuses, located in Carmel, Fishers, Lafayette, Westfield, Indy North, Anderson, Kokomo, New Castle Correctional Facility and Miami Correctional Facility, and the list continues to grow.

One part of Northview Church’s mission is to help people connect with God and with others. Serving others is a key element of this; so important, in fact, that once a year, Steve cancels services as the entire church goes out into the community to serve individuals and organizations. Known to his friends and colleagues as a leader, teacher and visionary, Steve has served for 17 years as Lead Pastor of Northview Church. Under his leadership, the church has grown in attendance from 500 to over 8,500. His ability to lead people forward has played a key part in the addition of Northview Kids, a children’s wing, North Beach, a youth facility, Capstone Café & Bookstore and a new 2,000-seat, state-of-the-art Auditorium.

Steve and his wife, Sandy, whom he refers to as “his best friend,” enjoy traveling together and going to movies. They spend time with their two children—Ryan and Jenni—and their seven grandchildren.
