CYCLING CLUB The cycling club not only demonstrated what it meant to be professional and passionate on the bike, but off the bike as well. When the fires struck Santa Rosa last fall, the team organized one of the largest single, self-run donation efforts. In just over a day, they collected multiple truck-loads of clothes, toiletries and other necessities to help get our neighbors up north back on their feet. The team was thankful for all donations and everyone stepped up to do their best to help in any way possible. This selflessness also translated on the bike in races as well. The Stanford ladies team rode its heart out in a challenging road race and circuit race and podiumed at the national championships in Colorado. In the fall, the Women’s Swimming and Diving team volunteered with ‘Cycling Day at Stanford Stadium’ in partnership NCAA Champions with Stanford Athletics. The team planned routes and led rides for a group of over 30 riders. These beginner-friendly rides encouraged members of the university community to get involved in a sport while helping promote Stanford Athletics in the process. The team has strived for the highest level of athleticism and consistently competed on the national stage across multiple disciplines. The cycling club demonstrated involvement in the Stanford and Bay Area communities, produced competitive achievements and was an overall positive ambassador for club sports.
