Big and gregarious with a booming voice, Pfc. Lonnie Wells was a beloved figure in Moncks Corner and a former police offi cer of the year. Cpl. Then, in a flash of violence, they were gone, gunned down on a sunny Sunday afternoon while investigating a domestic dispute report.
