We’re recruiting a Power Shift Project Officer
LOCATION: Melbourne, Australia RESPONSIBLE TO: Laura Melville, Power Shift Project Manager. TIME COMMITMENT: 3 month contract START DATE: ASAP EMPLOYMENT BASIS: Part time, 0.4 (2 days a week) SALARY: 39,000 pa, excluding super.
The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is looking for a passionate and dedicated person to join our national Power Shift team in Melbourne!
Responsibilities: ● Provide logistics support to Project Manager ● Support with communications to our members and grassroots network ● Support with communications to external stakeholders
The ideal candidate will be someone who has project management skills and who is dedicated and passionate about climate justice
About Power Shift: Power Shift 2017 will bring together over 700 young people from all walks of life, to learn, grow and get fired up to take action to solve the climate crisis. Power Shift is a launchpad for a powerful movement led by young people to change the world.
Power Shift will build the power of the youth climate movement, by giving young people everything they need to organise and mobilise their peers, and work together to supercharge campaigns to keep fossil fuels in the ground and transition to 100% renewable energy.
In 2017, our generation faces a broken political system, racism, inequality, student debt, and the climate crisis. But we are also connected, creative and courageous. Through Power Shift we will build a powerful, national grassroots movement of young people, and supersize our campaigns to keep Galilee coal in the ground, protect water and country in the Northern Territory from gasfield fracking, and upgrade Australia to 100% renewable energy.

About the AYCC The AYCC acts as an independent, non-profit, non-partisan organisation whose primary purpose is to benefit the Australian community by building a generation wide movement to solve climate change by educating, inspiring, empowering and mobilising young Australians around climate justice. The AYCC provides accurate, accessible information about climate change, assisting young Australians and the wider community to understand the problem, its effects, and solutions and aims to achieve short-term impact and long-term cultural change to assist Australia to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to ecologically sustainable levels.
The AYCC is Australia’s largest youth-led organisation, with 750 volunteers nationally, and more than 120,000 young members across Australia.
