The 's degree in unified early childhood at the University of Kansas prepares individuals to work in inclusive settings to meet the learning needs of all young children (birth - grade three), including those with disabilities. • The KU UEC program is a five semester program and begins in the spring semester. It is highly recommended that apply for admission to the KU UEC program during the summer preceding their sophomore year and that they plan on beginning KU in the following spring, so usually the spring of the sophomore year. • There are 36 hours of general education/admission requirements for the UEC program. • Completion of minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. • Minimum cumulative and admission GPAs of 2.75 (includes all transfer hours). • Once admitted, all courses on program sheet must be completed to graduate. • Deadline to apply for this major is mid-September. Check www.soe.ku.edu for more information. • Effective Fall 2014, transfer grades of “D” or below will not be accepted. • Minimum total hours for is 120.

Sixty-four credits may be transferred to KU from community . Students should be aware that 45 junior/senior credit hours are required for completion of the bachelor’s degree; 30 of those hours must be at KU; and courses do not transfer as junior/senior hours.
