The dark bay, who the sale. wrapped up his 3-year-old season with a sixth in the 2014 Kennedy Road S., tallied three wins in eight starts this year, Go to Today’s TDN Europe/International. including the GIII Bold Venture S. Sept. 13. Most recently, Stacked Deck was third in the rained-off GIII Woodford S. at Keeneland Oct. 3, and never factored when 10th in the GI Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint Oct. 31. The Barb Minshall trainee was positioned just off dueling leaders down the backstretch of this one and moved into contention on the turn. Swung four wide at the top of the lane, Stacked Deck began his rally, taking control in upper stretch and pulling away for the decisive victory. "When I saw him in the paddock, I knew he was on his game," said Minshall. "He's gained weight every race this year. I think he's got stronger every race. He's had a lot of races in the last couple months, but it hasn't taken anything out of him. I told [jockey Luis Contreras] he didn't need the lead, but just don't take him back. Let him get comfortable and see how it sets up. If somebody wanted to go, just let them go. I told him, turning for home, that's when you want to set him down. If he gets in front, he'll be hard to go by." Cont. p3 The first runners by New York Freud hit the track in 2005, since then, his progeny racing in New York have generated the following income (through June 30, 2015):

$5.1 million in breeder awards $2.1 million in stallion awards $825,000 in open company owner awards

More than $8 million in total awards were paid for the winning progeny of a single stallion over a ten year span.

With award potential like that why would you stand your stallion anywhere else?

FEATURE PRESENTATION • GI CIGAR MILE H.

TONALIST, RED VINE READY FOR CIGAR MILE “They both looked good this morning,” Clement continued. “The plan is to run both horses [in the Cigar Mile]. It's a Grade I in New York, it's going to be very tough, but I like the way each of them look. Tonalist will have blinkers back on and be ridden by John Velazquez, and Red Vine with Joel Rosario." Clement added that he expects both Tonalist and Red Vine to continue racing in 2016, but both will take a break after Saturday’s affair.

LA VERDAD ENTERED IN FALL HIGHWEIGHT Multiple graded stakes winner La Verdad (Yes It’s True) will make her next, and possibly final, start in the GIII Fall Highweight H. Thursday at Aqueduct. The Lady Shelia Stable colobearer annexed Belmont’s Iroquois S. Oct. 24 before wheeling back on seven day’s rest to finish second in the GI Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint Oct. 31. "We were very happy," trainer Linda Rice said. "There were a lot of tough decisions for a couple weeks going into Showcase Day and the Breeders' Cup. With all the moving parts--the Breeders' Cup payment because she wasn't nominated, the seven furlongs, facing the colts or the fillies--after all was said and done we were pleased with the path we chose." As for Thursday’s start, Rice explained, "Cutting back to six furlongs is obviously a good thing for her. Against the colts, it's questionable. Last year didn't go well for us [when La Verdad finished seventh in the Fall Highweight], but I think that she's in much better form right now." OVER €150K RAISED FOR HANLEY FUND An auction of stallion nominations and other industry-related products and services raised better than €150,000 Saturday night at Goffs, with the proceeds benefitting the Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund. All the money raised will go directly to fund ground-breaking research into surgery that could change the course of the disease. Hanley, the wife of former Irish-based trainer and current WinStar Farm Manager David Hanley, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 49 and is a member of a research team led by Professor Greg Gerhardt and Dr Craig Van Horne in Kentucky. The Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund has been set up solely to fund their work into these surgeries and allow the research to continue. “I am overwhelmed by the kindness of those who have so generously contributed to the Ann Hanley Parkinson's Research Fund, be they vendors, purchasers or underbidders,” Ann Hanley commented. “We were all watching the proceedings live on the Goffs website as were the doctors involved in these ground breaking procedures. TATTERSALLS DECEMBER SALES COMMENCE GOFFS NOVEMBER WRAPS The Tattersalls December sale series kicks off Monday with the one-day Yearling Sale, the final yearling sale on the calendar in Europe and an event which therefore offers shoppers one last chance for the year to fill their orders. The catalogue includes 67 siblings to stakes winners, including siblings to Group 1 winners Madame Chiang (GB) (Archipenko) and Sans Frontieres (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). “The December Yearling Sale is a cracking little sale every year,” George noted. “It’s the final yearling sale of the European calendar every year and has a loyal following. It always attracts people who may not have filled all the orders they had at the other sales and it looks to be a catalogue of genuine quality. Nine of the top 10 British and Irish sires have yearlings catalogued this year, including the two stars Galileo and Dubawi.” Cont. p2

Average and median were €31,294 (+20%) and €15,000 (+11%). Goffs’ Chief Executive Henry Beeby described the opening day of the mares’ sale as a “truly stunning day of breeding stock,” before reflecting on the final session. He said, “[Sunday], although at a lower level, continued in the same kind of vein allowing us to record significant growth in turnover, average and median over the two days.” Beeby continued, “We have welcomed a really international audience of buyers following a number of targeted visits across the globe by the Goffs team and our colleagues at Irish Thoroughbred Marketing. They have flocked to Goffs to take advantage of our unique service and diverse catalogue which, although perhaps lacking a headline-grabbing star like Chicquita or Banimpire, represented the sort of sound commercial investments that have proved so lucrative for our buyers over the years. It seems that the 2015 offering appealed more than ever as our increases clearly illustrate.” Cont. p2 The world’s leading daily bloodstock publication
