Mondiali, Rossi: “Un quinto della Nazionale è lombarda” | 1 LECCO – “Anche ai Mondiali di calcio 2014 in Brasile la Lombardia si conferma come la Regione che ben rappresenta lo sport nel nostro Paese detenendo circa un quinto del sistema sportivo nazionale”. Questo il commento dell’assessore regionale allo Sport e Politiche per i giovani Antonio Rossi alla vigilia dell’apertura della competizione che scatterà giovedì con Brasile-Croazia e vedrà l’Italia in campo sabato sera contro l’Inghilterra. “Sono 4 su 23 i giocatori nati e vissuti nella nostra Regione” ha sottolineato l’assessore Rossi. Si tratta di Matteo Darmian, di Legnano (Mi), in forza al Torino; Mattia De Sciglio, nato a Milano e giocatore del Milan; di Marco Parolo di Gallarate (Va) del Parma e Andrea Pirlo di Flero (Bs) della Juventus. “Non dimentichiamo, inoltre – ha aggiunto l’assessore -, che il Ct Cesare Prandelli è di Orzinuovi (Bs) mentre il capo delegazione, il vice presidente dalla Figc Demetrio Albertini, è di Besana in Brianza (Mb). Infine, voglio ricordare che il trofeo della Coppa del mondo è realizzata in Lombardia da un’azienda artigiana di Paderno Dugnano (Mi), fin dal 1972, chissà che non possa tornare nel nostro Paese al termine dei Mondiali”. L’appello dell’assessore regionale, che si augura come la nazionale possa andare avanti il più possibile, è quello dedicato al fair play e ai valori dello sport. “Spero che i nostri ragazzi – ha detto l’assessore – riescano ad andare avanti il più possibile e che, soprattutto, in campo riescano a mostrare il massimo fair play”. “I giocatori – ha concluso l’assessore – devono capire che con i loro gesti sono da esempio anche per i più piccoli e che la vetrina del mondiale è un potente mezzo per mostrare un gioco pulito, sano, all’insegna della passione e del divertimento”.
