Fall Can Drive
We will have our Fall Can Drive from November 6-12 from 7:30 AM
8:30 AM . Although there are no national or state competitions, we still
believe in the importance of recycling here at SHS . RECYCLE ALUMINUM
G ( cans and scrap aluminum ) during the can drive November 6–12 in the
CANS gym parking lot . When you drop off your recycled aluminum, give the
name of an SHS student, because there is a hot chocolate & cookies
competition between the classrooms. We are in need of volunteers to help with the Can
Drive . If you can help any day please contact the school office at 853-4388.

Dear Parishioners,
It is hard to imagine that the Bishop's Annual Appeal (BAAM) will end in the next few weeks. As
many of you are aware , the goal for Sacred Heart this year is $ 11,918 , and St. Joseph is $ 2,740 . However,
Sacred Heart has only reached 46% of the goal , which is $ 5,498 , and St. Joseph has only reached 47 % ,
which is $ 1,280 . I strongly believe that the goal of this year can be accomplished if everyone gives a help
ing hand of $ 40 or $ 50 . The good thing about achieving the goal for the BAAM is that the diocese will as
sess both parishes less next year . This means Sacred Heart will save about $ 4,000 , and St. Joseph will save
about $ 1,500 .
Many of you may not know that one of the ministries that the BAAM focuses on is Catholic Education
throughout the diocese . Every year, Sacred Heart School has good support from the BAAM . You also may
not know that when we replaced the school windows , the diocese gave us $ 18,000 . This amount ofmoney also came from the BAAM .
When we generously support the Bishop's Annual Appeal , good things will happen to our parishes and
school . At the same time , good things also happen throughout the diocese .
My dear people , please help our parishes to achieve the goal of this year so good things will happen to
both parishes and our school . Good things also happen throughout the diocese of Nashville . Please write in
your check memo or your envelope “ BAAM ."
