For Immediate Release: May 7, 2021 Contact Information: Tonya Atta Director of Operations & Communications Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission 316.265.6236 2021 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award presented by the Kamerion Wimbley Foundation Watch List Updated WICHITA, KANSAS – The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission has added eight catchers to the official watch list of the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award presented by the Kamerion Wimbley Foundation: Eric Bigani, JR UNLV Andrew Cossetti, JR Saint Joseph’s Angelo D’Acunto, JR Holy Cross Hunter Goodman, SO Memphis Jerry Huntzinger, SR Seton Hall Coltyn Kessler, SR Kentucky Logan Tanner, FR Mississippi State Nick Thornquist, SR UTSA This year, eighty-eight catchers have been nominated for the award by their schools. The watch list will be narrowed down to the semifinalists, whom will be announced May 20, 2021. Ballots will be sent to the national voting committee at the end of May for a vote to determine the three finalists. The finalists will be announced June 7, 2021. A final vote among the national committee will occur during the College World Series. All finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced at the 23rd Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on July 1, 2021. Because the Buster Posey Award strives to honor the top collegiate catcher in a season, a 2020 recipient was not named due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the collegiate baseball season. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, March 30, 2015 NOW BATTING…FOX SPORTS ANNOUNCES BROADCASTERS FOR 20th CONSECUTIVE MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SEASON Former MLB All-Star Raúl Ibañez Added to Studio Lineup; Joe Davis and Aaron Goldsmith Enlisted for Full-Time Play-By-Play Duties Buck, Reynolds & Verducci; Vasgersian & Smoltz Return as Top Broadcast Teams New York / Los Angeles – As rosters across Major League Baseball are trimmed and clubs soon break camp, FOX Sports turns in a deep lineup of its own, with a mix of newcomers and returning veterans, as game crews and studio personalities for the coming 2015 season are announced today. New to the team are former All-Star slugger Raúl Ibañez, along with play-by- play announcers Joe Davis and Aaron Goldsmith. The announcement was made today by Eric Shanks, President, COO & Executive Producer, FOX Sports, and John Entz, Executive Vice President, Production & Executive Producer, FOX Sports. A veteran of 19 MLB seasons, Ibañez joins the network’s pregame and postgame coverage as a studio analyst and contributes to FOX Sports 1’s studio programming throughout the season, including flagship news programs AMERICA’S PREGAME, FOX SPORTS LIVE and MLB WHIPAROUND. “From afar, we always appreciated and respected the way Raúl interacted with the media during his career and we saw that professionalism during the audition process,” Entz said. “Obviously, he has an incredible wealth of experiences and knowledge to draw from and we are excited to welcome him to our team.” Ibañez appeared in 2,161 games over the course of his career with five different franchises, posting a lifetime .272 batting average and collecting 2,034 hits, 305 home runs and 1,207 runs batted in. -

Florida's Singer Chosen As 2018 Dick Howser Trophy
DICK HOWSER TROPHY COMMITTEE Contact: Bo Carter ([email protected]) June 16, 2018 FLORIDA’S SINGER CHOSEN AS 2018 DICK HOWSER TROPHY RECIPIENT OMAHA, Neb. – Pitcher Brady Singer, regarded as one of the top pitchers in the storied history of Florida Gators baseball, is the 32nd recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy, presented by The Game Headwear, as college baseball's Player of the Year. Singer joins UF’s and Seattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino (2012) as the first two Gators standout to capture the Howser Trophy. The Howser Trophy committee and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced the award Saturday at a national news conference at TD Ameritrade Park prior to the opening game of the 72nd annual NCAA Division I Baseball College World Series. Singer is the seventh student-athlete from the Southeastern Conference to win the trophy and third in five years after the awards went to A.J. Reed of Kentucky and the Houston Astros in 2014 and Andrew Benintendi of Arkansas and the Boston Red Sox in 2015. Singer, a 6-5, 220-pound right-handed pitcher from Eustis, Florida, was the 2018 SEC Pitcher of the Year. He also garnered 2018 consensus first team All-American honors and was the No. 18 player chosen in the recent Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals, the organization Dick Howser managed to the 1985 World Series crown. His most recent pitching outing was against fellow 2018 Dick Howser Trophy finalist pitcher Casey Mize of Auburn on June 9. Singer outdueled the AU mound star with 6 2/3 innings pitched, nine strikeouts, two walks, two runs (both earned), and a key 8-2 win by the Gators to open the NCAA Gainesville Super Regional. -
