Accessing Support for Young People during COVID-19

Local youth focused organisations play an important role in ensuring our young people have access to welcoming and appropriate services. During this time these organisations are still offering their youth friendly services, but may be operating a little differently.

They can answer any questions or concerns you may have about your mental health, drug and alcohol issues, general health, sexual health and relationships. headsapce is delivering online, screen to screen and phone counselling. headspace Wonthaggi can also support you to access the following services: General Practitioner (Doctor) Centrelink ACSO - alcohol and drug support YSAS - alcohol, drugs and social disconnection support Centre Against Sexual Assault Wellways – mental health and disability support Bass Coast Health - youth counselling Latrobe Regional Health - mental health services Quantum – family violence services

Youth Assist Clinics (YAC) www.southcoastyouthclinics.com.au These are safe, confidential and FREE health clinics for young people between 12 and 25 years old, providing access to doctors/nurses. No referral necessary

Bass Coast YAC - Wonthaggi Medical Group, Biggs Drive Consultations available via the main clinic. Phone (03) 5672 1333 to book.

Foster YAC - Foster War Memorial Arts Centre Open Mondays' 12.30pm - 4.30pm. Drop by during opening hours or phone (03) 5683 9780 / 0492 844 000 to book.

Korumburra YAC Open Tuesdays' 9.30am – 1pm at Secondary College. Consultations can also be booked via the Korumburra Medical Centre, phone (03) 5655 1355.

Leongatha YAC - Community College Gippsland (gymnasium building), Howard Street Phone/video consultations available Mondays' 2pm - 5pm. Do not attend the usual clinic in person at this time. Phone (03) 5662 2201 to book.

The Salvation Army, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (03) 5662 6400 / 1800 221 200 [email protected] www.salvationarmy.org.au/locations/victoria/v153/leongatha-corps/ Providing case support workers for singles, couples and families. Services include housing support, food emergency relief, family reconciliation and links to other support services. Service delivery via phone/video consult, face to face options available where essential.
