Yuvashree Arpan under which
50,000 youths will receive financial
assistance of Rs 1 lakh for setting
up an their own business initiatives.
Uttarakhand CM launches free milk scheme for anganwadi children
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra
Singh Rawat launched the Mukhyamantri
Anchal Amrit Yojana on Thursday, under
which 2.5 lakh children at 20,000 Anganwadi
kendras in the state will be given 100 ml
milk twice a week for free. Flavored, sweet, skimmed milk powder will be made available to
the 20,000 Anganwadi kendras across the state under the Amrit Yojana, Rawat said.

Total government liabilities rise to Rs 83.4 lakh crore in Q3: Finance Ministry report
Total liabilities of the government increased to Rs
83.40 lakh crore at the end of the December 2018
quarter from Rs 82.03 lakh crore in the previous
quarter of the current fiscal, latest data on public debt
showed on 8th March. Public debt accounted for
89.5% of total outstanding liabilities at the end of
December 2018 with internal debt accounting for
83.3% share.

Jagdish Mukhi appointed as the Governor of Mizoram
As Governor of Mizoram Kummanam
Rajasekharan has resigned from his post, President
Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the resignation of
Rajasekharan and has appointed Prof. Jagdish
Mukhi as the Governor of Mizoram, in addition to
his own duties of Assam Governor, until regular
arrangement for the office of the Governor of Mizoram is made.

Subhash Chandra Garg, Economic Affairs Secretary, Designated as Finance Secretary
The Government recently named economic
affairs secretary Subhash Chandra Garg as
Finance Secretary, according to a Personnel
Ministry order. T Garg, 58, a 1983 batch IAS
officer of Rajasthan cadre, has been working as
the Secretary in Department of Economic
Affairs since June 2017. Former Finance Secretary Ajay Narayan Jha superannuated on
February 28. Jha has taken over as Member, 15th Finance Commission.

Hasmukh Adhia, former finance secretary, appointed chancellor of Gujarat Central University
Hasmukh Adhia, who earlier served as the
Finance Secretary in the Finance Ministry, has
been appointed Chancellor of the Gujarat Central
University. News agency ANI confirmed Adhia's
appointment to the post on Saturday. His
appointment has been approved by President
Ram Nath Kovind who is also the visitor of the university.
Soumya Swaminathan named Chief Scientist at WHO
Soumya Swaminathan, a Deputy Director-
General of the World Health Organisation has
been named Chief Scientist of the WHO. As
Deputy Director-General Programmes (DDP),
she was one of the three DDGs assisting WHO
Director-General Tedros Adhanom
Ghebreyesus.

Agreement for Additional Financing of $137
Million for the Dam Rehabilitation and
Improvement Project (DRIP) that will help rehabilitate and modernize over 220 selected large
dams in the States of Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and
Uttarakhand.
India and ADB sign $26 Mn Loan Agreement for Additional Financing to Assam Urban Project
The Government of India and the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) signed in New Delhi a
$26 Million Loan Agreement to provide
additional financing for improving drainage
infrastructure in Dibrugarh town of Assam under
the ongoing Assam Urban Infrastructure
Investment Program.
