  • INSPECTION 08 July 2010 Rainbow Forge Primary School Beighton
PROTECT – INSPECTION Aviation House T 0300 123 1231 125 Kingsway [email protected] London WC2B 6SE www.ofsted.gov.uk 08 July 2010 Rainbow Forge Primary School Our reference:107005 Beighton Road Hackenthorpe Sheffield South Yorkshire S12 4LQ Dear Parent Rainbow Forge Primary School: Ofsted’s interim assessment I am pleased to provide some important information about Rainbow Forge Primary School. As you may know, during its last inspection in November 2006, Ofsted inspectors judged your child’s school to be good. Schools which are performing well are now inspected less often than other schools. This usually means that good schools are inspected once in five years, whilst satisfactory schools will be inspected at least once every three years. Some good schools are inspected after three years; others may have their inspections put back. To help decide whether we can wait longer than three years before undertaking a full inspection of a good school, such as your child’s, Her Majesty’s Inspectors look at various sources of information, as listed below. This is called an ‘interim assessment.’ The results of the interim assessment In carrying out the interim assessment, we considered the following: pupils’ academic performance pupils’ attendance any visits carried out by Ofsted since the last inspection complaints about the school by parents or carers any other significant issues brought to Ofsted’s attention. I am pleased to inform you that our interim assessment shows that the school’s performance has been sustained and that we can defer its next full inspection As a result, the next full inspection will not take place any earlier than 1 September 2011 unless we receive information in the course of the coming year that causes us to inspect earlier.

  • Policing-Policy-During-Strike-Report
' The Police Committee Special Sub-Committee at their meeting on 24 January 19.85 approved this report and recommended that it should be presented to the Police Committee for their approval. In doing so, they wish to place on record their appreciation and gratitude to all the members of the County Council's Department of Administration who have assisted and advised the Sub-Committee in their inquiry or who have been involved in the preparation of this report, in particular Anne Conaty (Assistant Solicitor), Len Cooksey (Committee Administrator), Elizabeth Griffiths (Secretary to the Deputy County Clerk) and David Hainsworth (Deputy County Clerk). (Councillor Dawson reserved his position on the report and the Sub-Committee agreed to consider a minority report from him). ----------------------- ~~- -1- • Frontispiece "There were many lessons to be learned from the steel strike and from the Police point of view the most valuable lesson was that to be derived from maintaining traditional Police methods of being firm but fair and resorting to minimum force by way of bodily contact and avoiding the use of weapons. My feelings on Police strategy in industrial disputes and also those of one of my predecessors, Sir Philip Knights, are encapsulated in our replies to questions asked of us when we appeared before the House of Commons Select Committee on Employment on Wednesday 27 February 1980. I said 'I would hope that despite all the problems that we have you will still allow us to have our discretion and you will not move towards the Army, CRS-type policing, or anything like that.

Archaeological Assessment CPM Cirencester : CPM , 2004, 22pp, figs, refs Work undertaken by: CPM A desk-based archaeological assessment was prepared in advance of a proposed prison extension. No archaeological remains were recorded within the site itself, but a number of burials of probable early medieval date had been recorded 'at the prison' during previous works. The assessment indicated that similar archaeological finds and subsurface features relating to an Anglo-Saxon cemetery may have survived within the study area. Information suggested that previous finds had been made on the south- western side of the prison. Further archaeological mitigation was recommended. The report also contained a previous watching brief (May 2004) report carried out during test pitting and borehole excavation.
