Economic Officer
The Consulate General of Switzerland in Guangzhou is recruiting an Economic Officer.
The position offers a dynamic role in a field of highest priority to Switzerland. You will work in a diplomatic setting and contribute to the strengthening of Sino-Swiss economic relations and to the promotion of Swiss interests.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Analyze and report on the economic and trade policy of South China, within the six provinces (Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan, Guangxi, Hunan and Jiangxi)
Contribute to deepening Sino-Swiss economic relations and the improvement of the framework conditions for Swiss companies exporting to or doing business in South China
Organize visits and provide assistance to official and business delegations from Switzerland
Engage with industry and provide targeted support to Swiss companies established in South China in topics as intellectual property protection, customs, market access and tourism
Develop a network with relevant Chinese authorities, local Swiss and Chinese business communities
Required skills
University degree, preferably in economics, public policy, business or similar
Working experience in government, business, economic affairs or related areas
Chinese nationality

Profound reporting and communication skills
High professional standards, in particular integrity, transparency, discretion, reliability
Knowledge of and strong interest in economic and political affairs
Must be capable of working independently as well as in a team setting
Intercultural understanding and sensitivity
Mastering of key office applications, in particular Word, Excel and Power Point
