Thompson became just the second player ever to have 22+ rebounds at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (Anderson Varejao did it twice with 25 rebounds on Jan. 2, 2014 vs. ORL and 23 rebounds on Oct. 30, 2012 vs. WAS).

• MAJOR BENCH WORK: Against the Hawks on Feb. 12, Thompson became the first Cavs bench player with at least 27 points and 11 rebounds in a game since Melvin Turpin (32 PTS, 13 REB) versus New York on March 11, 1986. Thompson also shot a career-high 3-3 (1.000) from beyond the arc that night.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINES: KEVIN LOVE and TRISTAN THOMPSON both notched four MOST CONSECUTIVE DOUBLE-DOUBLES TO START SEASON (CAVS HISTORY) double-doubles in the Cavs’ first four games this season (10/23- PLAYER/YEAR DOUBLE-DOUBLES 10/30). No other duo in Cavaliers history has ever accomplished KEVIN LOVE (2019-20) 5 that feat. The last NBA teammates to post 4 double-doubles in Brad Daugherty (1991-92) 5 the first 4 games was Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon of Mark Price (1988-89) 5 the Houston Rockets during the 1985-86 season. (Elias) TRISTAN THOMPSON (2019-20) 4 Tyrone Hill (2002-03) 4 EXUM’S BIG NIGHT: *Love and Thompson are the only teammates in Cavs history to open a season with 4 DANTE EXUM posted a career-high 28 points on 11-13 (.846) straight double-doubles shooting, including a perfect 4-4 (1.000) from beyond the arc, in 24 minutes against Minnesota on Jan. 5. It was Exum’s 4th career 20-point performance. Exum scored 24 of his 28 points in the second half, going a perfect 9-9 from the field (4-4 3FG) over the final two periods. His 24 second-half points were the most he has recorded in any half of his NBA career, the most points in any half by a Cavs player this season and most in a half since LeBron James scored 35 in the second half at Philadelphia on April 6, 2018. In addition, Exum became the first Cavs player to make at least nine field goals without missing a shot in a single half since March 2013 (Marreese Speights, 10-10 FG in 1st half vs. NYK on March 4, 2013).

DELLY’S NINE DIMES IN 19 MINUTES: MATTHEW DELLAVEDOVA handed out a season-high nine assists in just 19 minutes off the bench against Detroit on Jan. 7. The last Cavalier to have that many assists and play less than 20 minutes in a game was Terrell Brandon, who also dished out nine assists in 19 minutes against the Pistons on Feb. 5, 1993.

24 UNANSWERED POINTS: Against the Houston Rockets on Dec. 11, the Cavs went on a 24-0 run (1:12 mark of 3rd Q to 8:19 of 4th Q), their longest run in a game since Dec. 6, 2009 when they went on a 29-0 run at Milwaukee. (Elias Sports Bureau)

DOWNTOWN THIRD QUARTER: Cleveland knocked down 10 three-pointers in the third quarter of their game against Milwaukee on Nov. 29. 0 threes in the third quarter. Cleveland was only one three-pointer away from matching the franchise record for three-pointers in a single quarter that night (11 in 1Q vs. LAC on Jan. 31, 2010). Cleveland also had a season-high 32 assists on 44 field goals versus Milwaukee.

TRIO WITH 25+ POINTS APIECE: The Cavs overcame a five-point deficit (103-98) with 20.1 seconds remaining in regulation and defeated San Antonio 117-109 in overtime on Dec. 12. KEVIN LOVE (30 PTS), COLLIN SEXTON (28 PTS) and Jordan Clarkson (25 PTS) led the way and became the first Cavs trio to score 25+ points apiece since February 8, 2017 (Kyle Korver-29, Kyrie Irving-29, LeBron James-25). (Elias Sports Bureau)

70+ POINTS IN A HALF IN CONSECUTIVE GAMES: At Boston on Dec. 27, the Cavs put up 70 points on 26-45 (.578) shooting in the second half. It was their second game in a row putting up 70+ points in a half (71 in 1st H vs. ATL on Dec. 23). The last time the Cavs recorded 70+ points in a half in back-to-back games was Nov. 20-22, 2017 (at DET, vs. BKN). (Elias Sports Bureau)

MOST REBOUNDS IN 5 YEARS: The Wine & Gold’s season-best 61 rebounds at Minnesota on Dec. 28 was their most in a game since pulling down 61 boards at Philadelphia on Feb. 18, 2014. Cleveland has had 60+ rebounds twice this season.

SO MUCH PAINT: During Cleveland’s win at Detroit on Jan. 9, the Cavs scored a season-high 70 points in the paint, their most since 1997-98 when play by play was first kept league wide (Elias Sports Bureau).
