The four-door Gran Coupe, already widely recognized for aesthetic beauty and impressive driving performance, raises the benchmark with exciting new details. The new BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe will become available to order starting in March 2015, with US deliveries slated to begin at BMW Centers in June. The MSRP including Destination and Handling is $122,195. The BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe is available as a special-order vehicle with capacity-limited production underscoring its exclusivity. The Product Effect: Do Designed Products Convey Their Characteristics To Their Owners? Raja Ahmad Azmeer Raja Ahmad Effendi Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Faculty of Design Swinburne University of Technology 2011 ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Malaysia is unique within the Islamic world in developing a motor car industry that is geared towards both internal and export markets. After achieving initial success, its export performance has failed to match that of its international competitors. Factors that are suspected to contribute to this failure is in the technology and styling of its models. Moreover, with the implementation of AFTA (Asean Free Trade Area) in Malaysia, the car industry is expected to face the influx of inexpensive established brands from ASEAN countries which will gradually dominate the local market. The research was cross-cultural and tested for possible differences based on nationality and gender. It used qualitative and quantitative techniques consisting of a Car Positioning Task using Semantic Differential scales and a derivation of the Room Effect method in order to investigate the perception of cars and its effect upon the perception of its owner. The pilot and actual surveys using Room Effect method were carried out with international participants. The results indicated that it is reliable and can be used to reveal cultural and gender differences. The research also indicated that the Room Effect method is practical for application to the car industry. ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS This thesis marks the conclusion of a three year PhD program in Design at the Faculty of Design, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.

  • July - September 2018 Issue
Sierra Scene July - September 2018 Issue From the President's Desk Welcome to the third quarter of 2018. This quarter there was one event and everyone had a great time. We had our fifth Annual Family Picnic & Show-n-Shine at the Arrowcreek Residents’ Club. There was plenty of food to go around as evidenced by the smiling faces that were present that day. The Show ‘n Shine (with a twist) was asuccess! All cars were welcomed and trophies were given out to three People’s Choice awardees. It was definitely a great day for spending time outdoors with friends who have a common passion about their cars. Thank you to Pat McGoff, Mart Jaama, John Strom and Fred Watson for making this event happen. Election of new Board Members will be in November and we are looking for people to fill some of those positions. Mart Jaama will become the new president for 2019-2020. The current and continuing members were listed at the October meeting. This is an excellent way to help grow our chapter and influence the events offered to our members. For more information about any board position, please contact any of the officers listed in this newsletter. - Ron Nicasio, President Read more... 1 Featured Articles BMW – What’s New and What’s Coming from Motor Week, August 6, 2018 BMW will continue to provide as many models in each segment as possible over the next few years.
