However, in preparing the report for 1974, it has been possible to operate not onlyon objective criteria laid down by the IWRB and IUCN but alsoon the results of an extensive survey undertaken over the past two yearsas a co-operative effort by the Forest and Wildlife Service of the the Dept. of Lands and the Irish Wildbird Conservancy -of wildfowl and wader numbers in Irish wetlands.
