Traffic Engineering and Management – Our staff are highly experienced in preparing complicated temporary traffic management schemes (TTMS) for all kinds of projects in busy areas in order to assist the contractors in carrying out construction works in different areas of HKSAR. Our tasks include site reconnaissance, traffic surveys, data collection, and traffic analysis to assist the design and preparation of TTMS. After all, the TTMS will be presented to relevant authorities to seek for approval. We have also established contacts and good working relationship with government departments particularly Transport Department, Traffic Police, Highways Department, Water Supplies Department, Drainage Services Department, MTRC, etc. with regards to temporary traffic management works. Successful examples of complicated traffic diversion include Retrofitting of Noise Barrier along Tseung Kwan O Road, Central Wan Chai Bypass-Central Interchange that involves all busy roads nearby IFC, Construction of MTR Whampoo Station with complicated construction phases, Traffic Improvement of Tuen Mun Road Town Centre Section, etc.

Traffic Impact Assessment Study – We have also undertaken traffic impact assessment study for roadworks at sensitive routes in the territories and new private developments for different purposes such as Section 16 Application in the case of rezoning application. In HKSAR, there are many urban routes that had been classified as red or pink routes and any roadworks at these road sections will require a traffic impact assessment study to identify the potential traffic impacts arising from the implementation of roadworks and propose appropriate mitigation measures to minimize the disruption to the public. On the other hand, private developments usually require a traffic impact assessment to support their application through various government departments since traffic will be generated from these developments, which will have implication on the road network nearby.

Traffic Forecast and Transportation Planning Study – Our staff had also been heavily involved in traffic forecast study and transportation planning study both in Hong Kong and . These studies involved mobilizing a large number of surveyors to conduct traffic surveys and data collection in order to establish the traffic model for further analysis. These studies have provided valuable information for town planning purposes and for valuation of properties, mainly tolled highways in Mainland China. 5/F, Winning Commercial Building, 46-48 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong Tel: (+852) 3168 2028 Fax: (+852) 3168 2022 E-mail: [email protected] Website: http://www.manningsasia.com

Structural Engineering Design – We have proven record to derive cost effective structurally design based on the market condition of structural elements and constructability. Of particular concern is the congested urban area in Hong Kong and we will review the site constraints, traffic conditions, and constructability with special emphasis on safety. Recently, we had successfully implemented the cost saving design for the foundation of the noise barriers along Tseung Kwan O Road that enabled construction works to be effectively executed along the congested Tseung Kwan O Road. Similar successful examples are Noise Barriers along Yuen Sin Road, Noise Barriers along Tsing Tin Interchange, etc. Another classic example in our structural design is the undertaking of the design of Tuen Mun Road Improvement along Town Centre Section covering a 400m s-curve viaduct spinning off from Wong Chu Road in which bearing articulation is totally re-arranged; various types of noise barriers comprising series of noise enclosures, semi-enclosure and cantilever spanning over 20m wide carriageway with vertical green walls and green roofs; re-provision of 4 footbridges with lifts; and relocation of a LRT lift at the heavily trafficked Tuen Mun Road.

In Design and Build of Infrastructure Works for Tseung Kwan O Stage 1 Landfill Site, we had designed an arch link bridge of 140m in length and with clear span of 80m. Our design modified the reference scheme significantly by saving a large amount of piles and improving the appearance remarkably. Apart from viaduct design, we have also been extensively involved in a lot of footbridge link design and barrier free facilities design including “Footbridge Link along Mei Foo of 360m long comprising 8 individual structural steel trusses with spans varying from 30m to 50m”; “Reconstruction of Footbridge near Hsin Kuang Centre”, “Footbridge at Junction of Pui Shing Road and Ngan O Road for MTR”, “Provision of Access Facilities for the Disabled at Existing Footbridge and Subways for HyD”, etc.

In addition, we have heavily been involved in structural maintenance works. We have been the Structural Inspector for HyD’s Term Contracts for Maintenance of Roads in Kowloon East and New Territories West. We were also responsible for the design of the inspection platform for cable stayed bridge tower and design for the inspection cradle of Shenzhen Section of Shenzhen Bay Bridge. For the Cedric Bridge in Tuen Mun, we were responsible for the repairing of the aged concrete bridge with innovative approaches. 5/F, Winning Commercial Building, 46-48 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong Tel: (+852) 3168 2028 Fax: (+852) 3168 2022 E-mail: [email protected] Website: http://www.manningsasia.com
