LOS ANGELES NOTES • With the Dodgers’ victory Friday night, they have clinched the season series win over the Padres for the seventh consecutive year…the win is only the third victory in which Los Angeles has scored only one run. • Clayton Kershaw received his 12th straight win (with a decision), which is the longest winning streak in his career and the longest active streak in the Majors…the last Dodger to win 12 consecutive games was Burt Hooton, who accomplished the feat from July 23-Sept. 26, 1975...Hooton currently is in his fifth season as the pitching coach for the Padres’ affiliate Single-A Fort Wayne, having joined the TinCaps in 2013. o Tonight’s start was Kershaw’s first since July 23 vs. ATL, after spending 33 games on the disabled list with a lower back strain…Kershaw allowed two hits in the game, both infield singles…Solarte’s single in the fifth snapped Kershaw’s streak of retiring 12 consecutive batters. o Kershaw contributed to his own cause at the plate in the fifth inning, singling for the seventh time this season…his seven hits this season lead all Dodgers pitchers. • Justin Turner went 3-for-4 with a double, and he has now hit safely in five consecutive games (longest active streak on the club), going 7-for-18 with four doubles in that time…it marked Turner’s 39th multi-hit game (ranking second-most on the team behind Cory Seager’s 40) and his eighth three-hit game this season. • Chase Utley knocked-in the first and only run of the game with his two-out RBI single in the sixth…prior to his RBI single, Utley was hitting .219 with RISP/2 out. • Alex Verdugo made his Major League debut tonight, starting in center field…Verdugo, who was drafted by LAD in the second round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, went 0-for-3, reaching base for the first time in his career with a walk in the fifth. .
