I feel honoured in presenting the report of the activities of our college during the academic year 2020-2021, before this august gathering. According to the great thinker and philosopher cum teacher, Aristotle, Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all The great Scientist and Physicist Albert Einstein says “Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think”. Thus the goal of education is a gradual process which brings positive changes is human life and behaviour. Mahatma Gandhi strongly believed that, “Educating Woman is educating the society”. Our revered Founder Padmabhushan Sri N. Ramaswami Ayyar envisioned a developed society, by providing a suitable ambience for educating Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli-2 1 70 th College Day Annual Report 2020-21 and empowering the women in the background of traditional and cultural values. The visionary dream of our founder was realized when this temple of learning Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College was established in the year 1951. The institution which had a humble beginning with 11 students under a thatched roof, today stands tall as one of the most premier women’s institution. The legacy of our revered founder is carried forward by our respected Secretary. Our gratitude is due to the ardent personalities, Executive Director Sri Ramani Panchapakesan and Director-Academics Dr. Kannan Panchapakesan for their immaculate academic and technical guidance which enables us to succeed in our endeavors. Sustained academic growth and harmonious relationship is ensured among the faculty, students and the management. The performance of the students in the skill qualification examination is highly commendable. The world faced a major setback during the year 2020, in the form of COVID ’19. When the whole world decided to move on, the only option available was the virtual platform. Our college in tune with the present scenario gradually shifted to the virtual mode, enabling the students to continue their studies without any break.
