ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE SPEAKER

HON. SPEAKER: Hon. Members, I have to intimate that I have received a request from the Hon. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs seeking to permit the Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to lay all the papers listed under the head Papers to be laid on the Table of the House in the List of Business on behalf of all the Ministers during the Fifth Session of the due to prevailing situation of Covid-19. I have acceded to this request.

MOTION OF THANKS ON THE PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS

SHRIMATI moving the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address, said: “That the Members of the Lok Sabha assembled in this Session are deeply grateful to the President for the Address which he has been pleased to deliver to both Houses of Parliament assembled together on January 29, 2021.”

I convey my heartfelt thanks to Hon. President for making a mention of all the good works of our Government in his address. This august House of ours is entering a new decade following the exalted path shown by him. Hon. Prime Minister, on the occasion of Neta ji's 125th birth anniversary, has decided to celebrate his birthday on 23rd January as Prakram Diwas every year. This day will be celebrated as a day of patriotic action and spirit of unity of the country. The year 2021 is going to be a historic year as we are entering in the 75th year of our independence this year. Different languages, states, religions, communities and ideologies make our country a diverse nation but our country has got a unity link through our constitution and our august House. I, therefore, salute our great Constitution. (Speech unfinished)
