The memento was from the Dolphins match-up against the Buffalo Bills at Hard Rock Stadium on Oct. 23. Ajayi rushed for 214 yards against the division rival in the Week 7 contest to become just the fourth player in National Football League history to gain 200 yards in back-to-back games. The second-year runner out of Boise State had rushed for 204 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers one week earlier. In doing so, he joined the ranks of Hall of Famers O.J. SIMPSON (who accomplished the feat twice) and EARL CAMPBELL, as well as Ricky Williams as the only runners in history to eclipse 200 yards rushing in consecutive games. Ajayi’s jersey was placed on display in the Hall of Fame’s “Pro Football Today” Gallery alongside numerous other artifacts from recent history-making moments around the NFL.
