NEWSPAPER CLIPPING 189 Message from Director Rev. Dr. Fr. Mathew Vattaathara CMI The core value of Rajagiri outREACH stems from a quote “The day in which you do not do some help to others will not be counted in the days of your life” by Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, Social Reformer and Founder of CMI congregation. The combined efforts of professionals in Rajagiri outREACH help the community and environment to strive every day. This was evident when Kerala was confronted with the Flood in August 2018, one of the drastic catastrophes in the history of the State. Our integrated efforts to rehabilitate the affected people and their eco-systems have been well appreciated by the government and community and we as a team are determined to do good every day. Message from CEO Dr. Binoy Joseph The Kerala floods of 2018 marked the worst disaster the State of Kerala had witnessed over a century; causing hundreds of fatalities and damages to wealth of over a million. Rajagiri outREACH has been in the forefront in the process of rehabilitation right from running the relief camp, mobilizing resources, developing infrastructure, psycho-social support, re-creating livelihood opportunities, rebuilding schools/social institutions among many others. We have achieved this feat without disturbing our other interventions such as Research, Child Centred Programmes, Women Entrepreneurship, Elder Care, Community Health Programmes, Environment Care programmes, etc. While we thank our partners for the enormous support extended to us, we present the Annual Report for the year 2018-19.
