Las Vegas offense: The 51s recorded 10 hits and scored all five runs via the . Jose Lobaton (1-for- 4) hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning and infielder Ty Kelly (2-for-5) hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning. Second baseman Gavin Cecchini was 2-for-3, two doubles, run scored. El Paso offense: The Chihuahuas recorded 12 hits and rallied for six runs over the final two at bats in the come-from- behind victory. El Paso defeats Las Vegas 14-0 in series finale (Monday, April 9): The Chihuahuas defeated the 51s 14-0 in the finale of the season-opening five-game homestand before a Smith’s Value Menu Monday crowd of 2,949 at Cashman Field. Las Vegas was 1-4 on the first homestand of 2018. Las Vegas offense: The 51s recorded 5 hits and were shutout for the first time this season. Second baseman Gavin Cecchini was 2-for-3 and center fielder Matt den Dekker, shortstop Ty Kelly and right fielder were each 1-for-4. El Paso offense: The Chihuahuas recorded 17 hits and six players recorded multiple-hit games. Albuquerque defeats Las Vegas 7-3 in series opener (Tuesday, April 10): The Isotopes defeated the 51s 7-3 in the opener of the three-game series and seven-game road trip before a crowd of 9,104 at Isotopes Park. Las Vegas offense: The 51s recorded 6 hits and scored all three runs in the first inning. Left fielder Zach Borenstein was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the first inning; third baseman Phillip Evans was 2-for-3, walk, double, RBI, run scored and second baseman Gavin Cecchini was 1-for-3, walk, double. Albuquerque offense: The Isotopes recorded 13 hits and rallied from a 3-0 deficit and scored five runs in the sixth inning to take a 7-3 lead. Blum Broadcast Booth” prior to the 2013 season to honor the 51s Special Assistant to the General Manager…“The Blummer” passed away on July 22, 2012 at the age of 91...also served as the play-by-play voice for Stars/51s baseball in selected seasons from 1985-2005 & 2008-10…his company, Robert J. Blum Productions, also produced Las Vegas Triple-A professional baseball games broadcast on radio and television for several seasons.

51s Manager Tony DeFrancesco: He was named the 24th manager (January 9, 2018) in the history of the Las Vegas franchise (1983 - present, 35 seasons). Career Summary: He has compiled 33 seasons overall in professional baseball, including 23 seasons as manager (over .500 seasons in 18 of 23 years)…has compiled an overall managerial record over 24 seasons (current) of 1,598-1,397 (.534) in the Oakland A's (1994-2010) and Houston Astros (2011-17) organizations…has also compiled an impressive Pacific Coast League managerial career record over 15 seasons (current) of 1,076-873 (.552) as a Triple-A skipper from 2003-07, 2009-17…was a member of the Houston Astros organization for the past seven seasons (2011-17) and was the manager for Triple-A Oklahoma City for four seasons (2011-14) and Triple-A Fresno for three seasons (2015-17)…was the manager of the PCL squad at the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game…was also the manager for seven seasons at Triple-A Sacramento (Oakland A's) from 2003-07, 2009- 10…the PCL tenure includes four championships (2003, 2004, 2007, 2015), two Triple-A National Championships (2007, 2015) and eight division titles…was named the 2003 PCL Manager of the Year and the 2015 Minor League Manager of the Year by …the four PCL titles is tied with Hall of Famer Del Crandall for the most championships in league history. 51s Coaching Staff: Joel Chimelis enters his 15th season overall as a coach in professional baseball and his first season in the Mets organization as the hitting coach for Triple-A Las Vegas. Minor League Coaching Career: He spent 12 seasons in the Houston Astros organization and was the hitting coach for Double-A Corpus Christi of the Texas League for two seasons (2012, 2017)…prior to 2017, he spent 11 years in Houston's system, starting at Single-A Tri-City of the New York-Penn League (2006-10) and working his way to Single-A Lexington of the (2011) and Corpus Christi (2012) before spending four years at Single-A Quad Cities of the Midwest League (2013-16)…before joining the Astros, he spent two years (2004-05) on the coaching staff of the Single-A Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League in the Montreal Expos/ organization…during the 2014 offseason, he served as hitting coach for the Puerto Rican Winter League champion Cangrejeros de Santurce. Professional Playing Career: He was selected by Oakland in the 11th round of June 1988 First-Year Player Draft…was traded to the San Francisco Giants in 1991 and spent the 1996 season in the New York Mets organization (Triple-A Norfolk)…reached the Triple-A level in the Giants system, playing for Phoenix from 1992-95, and was called up to the Majors during the '95 season…during his 14-year minor league career as an infielder (1988-96, 1999-2002), he also enjoyed stints in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Korea and Canada…attended Howard Junior College in Big Spring, Texas and played for the University of Texas in 1988…was named to the 1988 NCAA Central Region team with the Longhorns.

Glenn Abbott enters his eighth season overall in the Mets organization and his first season as the pitching coach at Triple-A Las Vegas. Minor League Coaching Career: He spent the previous six seasons as pitching coach for Double- A Binghamton of the Eastern League (2012-17)...in 2017, Binghamton compiled a record of 85-54 (.612) and advanced to the EL playoffs…also served as pitching coach for Single-A Savannah of the South Atlantic League in 2011…was a member of the San Diego Padres system before joining the Mets…served as pitching coach for Double-A San Antonio of the Texas League in 2007 and 2010…served in the same role with Triple-A Portland of the Pacific Coast League in 2008 and 2009 and with Double-A Mobile of the Southern League in 2006…was also pitching coach in the Texas Rangers system from 2003-05…spent a total of 13 seasons as a coach in Oakland’s organization from 1990- 2002...made his coaching debut with the Mets in 1985 with Single-A Little Falls of the New York-Penn League and stayed with the organization through the 1989 season. Jeremy Accardo enters his second season in the New York Mets organization and his first season as the bullpen coach with Triple-A Las Vegas…in 2017, he served as the pitching coach for Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Mets…spent eight seasons in the Major Leagues with San Francisco (2005-06), Toronto (2006-10), Baltimore (2011), Cleveland (2012) and Oakland (2012)…appeared in 262 career games and posted a 10-20 record with a 4.30 ERA with 38 saves (285.0 IP/205 SO)...was originally signed by San Francisco as a non-drafted free agent in 2003 after playing college ball at Illinois State University and earned his degree in 2016…was a member of Triple-A Las Vegas for two seasons (Toronto, 2009-10) and is the franchise leader with 37 career saves.

Las Vegas 51s/New York Mets Affiliation: The 51s and Mets, on August 28, 2014, announced the renewal of their Player Development Contract through the 2016 season…the PDC, on August 30, 2016, was then extended for two more seasons through 2018*…the Las Vegas Stars/51s have captured the PCL Championship twice (1986 & 1988) and appeared in the playoffs 10 times (19-29 record, .396), last appeared in 2014…Las Vegas was the 2013 & 2014 Pacific Southern Division Champions.
