Van Ackeren, LB *Montana at UC Davis...... 4:05 Oct. 12 (at UC Davis) *Weber State at Cal Poly ...... 6:05 Offense: *N. Arizona at Sacramento State...... 6:05 Defense: ------Special Teams: QUOTING HEAD COACH MICK DELANEY: Oct. 19 (Cal Poly) Offense: ON UCD: “You know any game you play now in the Big Sky will be a challenge no matter who Defense: your opponent is. I think when you are on the road like we are this weekend, it’s a lot more Special Teams: difficult. With it being their (the Aggies) homecoming game it will be very similar to what it was Oct. 26 (Eastern Washington) like at Northern Arizona (where it was “Family Weekend”). They (UC Davis) will try to put all Offense: of their eggs into one basket, sort-of-speak, to make sure they are prepared to try to play their Defense: best game of the season against the Griz, which always seems to be the case. Special Teams:

“We’ll have to go down there and play like we did this past Saturday, and not like we did two Nov. 2 (at Sacramento State) Offense: Saturdays ago (at NAU). Whenever you play it’s a simple formula -- don’t turn the ball over, Defense: don’t have a bunch of stupid penalties, and you will have a chance to win. If you do those Special Teams: first two things, then your chances to win are pretty slim.” Nov. 9 (at South Dakota) Offense: ON THE PSU WIN: “I am just so proud of our players and coaches. We had a great game Defense: plan, and the kids just stayed so focused and executed that plan almost to perfection. Obvi- Special Teams: ously we gave up some yards (511) on defense, but that’s okay. Our goal going in to the game was to stop the run (PSU had 33 carries for 115 yards) and we did just that. And, because we Nov. 16 (Weber State) were able to shut down their run, they had to become a little one-dimensional, and threw the Offense: Defense: ball almost every down in the second half, which made it a little easier for our defense.” Special Teams:

ON THE GRIZ REPONDING TO A MUST-WIN GAME LAST WEEK: “We played well on all Nov. 23 (at Montana State) fronts. Our special teams were very, very good and the offense was unbelievable on Saturday Offense: Defense: as far as execution goes. We played physical football and did the things we had to do, like run Special Teams: the football very well, against a team (PSU) which some people hadn’t been running the ball too well against. We played hard and we played smart.” !=National Player of the Week 2004 Griz FB add 11-11-11 THE SPORTS NETWORK TOP 25 (OCT. 7) grizgr GRIZ BY THE NUMBERS RK SCHOOL REC.PTS. 1.
