MARTHA STEWART Mary Martha Groves Stewart, 96, of St. Clairsville, OH, died Tues day, August 9, 2016, at Wheeling Hospital. She was bom March 23, 1920, in Egypt Valley, OH, a daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Williamson Groves. Martha retired as co owner of Stewart’s* Mobile Home and R.V. in St. Clairsville and a member of First Presbyterian Church. As the matriarch of the fam ily, she enjoyed sewing and cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was generous, caring and loving and one of the great est moms to many. In addition to her par ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray Stewart; her daughter, Jane Stewart (James) Sanati; a sister, Dorothy (Dale) Murphy; two brothers, Bernard and Charles Groves; and sister- in-law, Lois Groves. Surviving are her three children, Carole Stewart (Robert) Sabo of St. Clairsville, Thomas R. (Jackie) Stewart of Tall- madge, OH, and Robert E. (Sharon) Stewart of St. Clajrsville; a brother, Rus sell Groves of St. Clairsville; two sisters- in-law, Carol Ann Groves of Bamesville and Martha Groves of Flush ing; 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Kathy, Jamie, Mary Beth, Julie, Justin, Christo pher, Stephanie, Ryan, Adam, and Lindsay; numer ous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildmn; and nieces and nephewsy A Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 4-8 p.m., where serv ices will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Brandon. Surviving are her husband, John J.; three daughters, Teresa Davis of Flushing, Wendy Tanner and Vickie Turner, both of Bethesda; a stepson, John Stewart at home; her mother, Grace Brandon of Bethesda; two brothers, Bill Brandon of Flushing and Bruce Brandon of Bethesda; a sister, Sherry Jones of Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren. Mary Stewart Mrs. Mary Emma Stewart, RD1, Cadiz, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Timken Mercy Hospital, Canton. ^ £j She was born in Jefferson County, July 22, 1915, a daughter of the late John Henderson and Mae Moore. She was a member of Georgetown United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, C. William Stewart, one son, Charles Edward of Columbus, two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Zeyer of St. Clairsville, Mrs. James Henderson of Scio, five sisters, Mrs. Pauline Swan and Mrs. Lucille Gilmore, both of Cadiz, Mrs. Thelma Love and Mrs. Margaret Mercer, both of Harrisville, Mrs. Bernice Starcher of New Athens, one brother, John D. of Georgetown and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in Cadiz with Rev. Melvin C. Browning officiating. Interment was in Cadiz Union Cemetery. Church in Wheeling where she was active in the Senior Choir, the NAACP, and the Wheel ing American Legion Ladies Auxil iary. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband James Stewart, Sr., one brother William Davis and one sis ter, Mildred Gordon. Surviving are two sons, Ernest Stewart of Martins Ferry and James Stewart, Jr. of Bridgeport, one broth er Robert Wilson of Columbus and one sister, Marie Todd of Portsmouth, Va.; three grandchil dren and three great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. MARY STEWART Mary Nicolozakes Stewart, 83, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015, in Gravette, Arkansas at the home of her daughter, Nikki, She was born February 1 7, 1 932, in Fairpoint, OH, daughter of the late Gust George and Diamanta (Papadakis) Nicolozakes both originally of Neohorio, Crete, Greece. Mary graduated from St Clairsville High School in 1950. Mary and her sister Wanda left Fairpoint in 1951 bound for Columbus, OH. She retired from the State of Ohio as an admin istrative personnel for the Ohio Environmental Agency, Employment Agency, and the Ohio Student Loan Commission. Preceded in death by infant son David; brothers, George, Stanley, and Himer Nicolozakes; sisters, Sophia Brewster, Wanda Butler, and . She was bom March 4, 1916 in Marshall County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Samuel Tildon and Ida Katherine Gorby Taylor. She was a member of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ, Moundsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall B. Stewart; j two brothers, Harry and William \ “Wick” Taylor; and five sisters, Bess Elliott, Stella Mowder, Mary Mowder, Ethel Ryan and Alice Gump Zokoff. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph “Friday”, Victor, Gene, Richard, and Robert Bizzarri and a sister, Olive Calovini.
