2010 All-Secrelease 2004 All-Secrelease.Qxd FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SOUTHEASTERN December 7, 2010 CONTACT: Chuck Dunlap, CONFERENCE SEC Associate Director 2010 ALL-SEC FOOTBALL TEAM ANNOUNCED Alabama and LSU lead way with most selections BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Defending national champion Alabama and SEC Western Division runner-up LSU had the most representatives on the 2010 All-Southeastern Conference Coaches’ Football Team, the league office announced on Tuesday. Alabama had 12 total members, while LSU had eight. Nine of the 12 SEC schools had a member on the first-team All-SEC squad. LSU led with five first- teamers, while SEC Champion Auburn tied Alabama with four selections on the first team. Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina each had six members on the annual list. Auburn had four, while Florida and Mississippi State each had three. Alabama led with eight selections on the second team. Every SEC squad had at least one student-athlete represented on the first and second teams. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players. The All-SEC squad had 12 first-team seniors, 12 juniors, two sophomores and one freshman. South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore was the only freshman. LSU junior Patrick Peterson made the first team twice - once as a return specialist and once as a defensive back. Trent Richardson of Alabama and Randall Cobb of Kentucky were also both recognized at two positions. Nick Bell of Mississippi State was named honorary captain of the 2010 All-SEC squad. The SEC individual award winners will be released on Wednesday and the SEC All-Freshman Team will be announced on Thursday.     2008 Florida Football Post-Game Notes Florida vs. South Carolina November 15, 2008 This was the fifth straight game Florida scored 42 points or more, which matched the second-longest streak in school history (1996 and 2001). It is also tied with Oklahoma for the longest active streak in the country. Head Coach Urban Meyer is now 16-5 all-time against ranked opponents, 14-5 at Florida. He has led the Gators to wins over eight of the last 10 ranked opponents and 13 of the last 16. UF did not lose to an SEC East team this year and has gone undefeated against division teams 10 times in school history. USC remained unable to notch a win in Gainesville, as it is now 0-12 all-time. Florida increased its series lead to 22-4-3 overall and has claimed 16 of the last 17 meetings. Steve Spurrier is 1-3 against his former team and has lost the last three consecutive meetings. Prior to today’s game, the most points the Gamecocks had allowed in 2008 were 24 and were allowing only 15.6 points per game. The Gators scored 28 points with a little over 11 minutes to play in the first half. USC was ranked third in the nation in total defense, allowing only 256.5 yards per game. The Gators racked up 519 offensive yards today. The Gamecocks were also fourth in the nation in pass defense, only allowing 155.1 yards/game. The Gators registered 173 passing yards. Prior to today’s game, the Gamecock defense allowed opponents on 101.4 rushing yards per game and 12 rushing touchdowns on the year.
