Since its establishment as the Western Australian Institute of Technology in 1967, Curtin has expanded significantly in terms of student population, degree offerings, research collaborations and global footprint. The university now welcomes more than 51,000 students to its campuses in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai and Mauritius. It has been ranked within the top one per cent of universities in the world (ARWU 2018). Throughout its journey, Curtin has stayed true to the writings of its namesake, Australia’s 14th prime minister, John Curtin, who believed that universities should “look ever forward”. This mantra is the foundation for a culture of teaching and research innovation, and continues to drive students and staff to make tomorrow better. The university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business, humanities, health sciences, resources, engineering and related sciences. Research is also a focus, and significant growth in research output and collaboration has been the main catalyst for Curtin’s rise up the international rankings in recent years. Curtin was the first University in Australia to develop and implement its own Reconciliation Action Plan and last year, like BHP, the University achieved Elevate level, the highest in Reconciliation Australia’s Workplace RAP CEDA will be tweeting from this Framework. event using #Reconciliation Join the conversation and follow us Curtin University has been a CEDA member since 2012. on Twitter @ceda_news keynote speaker Andrew Mackenzie Chief Executive Officer, BHP Twitter: @bhp Andrew was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of BHP effective from 10 May 2013.
