Five First Saturdays Devotion of Reparation as Requested by Our Lady of Fátima On July 13, 1917, Our Lady said: “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. In order to save them God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart...I will come to ask for the Communion of Reparation...” On December 10, 1925, Our Lady returned with the Child Jesus and spoke to Sr. Lucia about true devotion of reparation to Her Immaculate Heart. Jesus spoke first: “Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.” Then Our Lady instructed Lucia about the Five First Saturday devotions. What does Our Lady ask all of us to do? On the First Saturday of Five Consecutive Months All with the 1. Make a Sacramental Confession* intention of 2. Pray the Rosary (5 decades) making 3. Receive Holy Communion Reparation 4. Keep Our Lady company for 15 to the minutes while meditating on the Immaculate Heart of Mysteries of the Rosary Mary (*One can confess within 8 days of the First Saturday) The Great Promise of Our Lady: “I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.” “In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph.” .

The Blessed Mother said at Fatima that until a sufficient number of people give their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary we will not have peace! How do we give our hearts to Jesus and Mary? Before school each day, say a small prayer to the Holy Spirit, the small consecration prayers to Jesus and Mary, and the morning offering (all available from Shepherds of Christ at no cost). Each time the children enter a classroom, say the consecration and Holy Spirit prayers. This binds the children in one heart with Jesus and Mary and there is less disharmony.1 We live by Mary's Peace Plan given at Fatima. It is as follows: 1. Until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world. 2. Mary has requested all to pray the daily rosary. 3. VOL. 3 NO. 9 PARISH NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER, 2015 ST . GREGORY THE GREAT September 3 . Gregory was born in 540 in Rome. His father was a senator. His mother is a saint, St St. Celia. Gregory studied philosophy and while still young, became governor of Rome. When is father died, Gregory turned his large house into a monastery. For several years he lived as a good and holy monk. Then Pope Pelagius made him one of the seven deacons of Rome. When the pope died, Gregory was chosen to take his place. He did not want that honor at all. He was so holy and wise, however, that everyone knew he would be a good pope. Gregory even disguised himself and hid in a cave, but he was found and made pope anyway. For fourteen years he ruled the Church. Even though he was always sick, Gregory was one of the greatest popes the Church has ever had. He wrote many books and was a wonderful, preacher. He cared for people all over the world. In fact, he considered himself the servant of all. He was the first pope to use the title “servant of the servants of God.” All the popes since have used this title. St. Gregory took special, loving care of poor people and strangers. Every day he used to feed them a good dinner. He was also very sensitive to the injustices people suffered. Once, when he was still a monk, he saw some blond boys up for sale in the slave market of Rome. He asked where they were from and was told that they were from England.
