Does Proctor require all students to have an iPad or Apple laptop? Yes, all students are required to arrive at Proctor with either an iPad or Apple laptop for the start of the school year.
What type of iPad or Laptop? ● Any 2016 or newer; MacBook Air, MacBook, or MacBook Pro. ● iPad: must support Apple Pencil, recommend WiFi only, no Cellular! ● 9.7-Inch iPad, 2018 only, 32GB or 128GB must support Apple Pencil ● 10.5 Inch iPad Pro, 2017 or newer ● 12.9 Inch iPad Pro, Gen1, 2017 or newer
Should I buy a warranty with my iPad? For new purchases, Proctor strongly recommends parents purchase the Applecare+ warranty. Every iPad and laptop comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary tech support. AppleCare+ for iPad extends your coverage to three years from the original purchase date of your product and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $49/iPad-$99/laptop service fee plus applicable tax. Should we purchase a protective case for the iPad? Yes, we recommend that you provide a case that protects the iPad and the iPad screen
Is a keyboard necessary? Yes we believe that a keyboard increases the productivity and usefulness of the iPad.
Will the school require specific apps? Yes, currently the following apps are required and are free with new iPad and Apple laptop purchases. Keynote, Pages, Numbers.
Will the school provide required books for the iPad? Yes, Proctor will purchase electronic books when they are available and appropriate for the class, keeping in mind students learning styles.
How will my student load apps or things they want from the Apple App Store? Students will be provided with a Proctor Apple iTunes ID to use on their iPads. To be used for all Proctor distributed books and Apps. The school will supply all necessary redemption codes
for books that are being used on the iPads or Apple laptops. If you want to give your student access to purchase from the iTunes store, we recommend that you do so using an iTunes gift card. All personal iTunes purchases should be done via a personal or family iTunes Apple ID.

1. Open the App Store, iTunes Store, or iBooks Store on your iOS device. 2. Choose any free app, song, video, or book. 3. Tap “Get” next to the item, then tap again to get it. 4. When you're asked to sign in with an Apple ID, tap “Create New Apple ID.” 5. Follow the onscreen instructions. When you're asked for payment information, choose None as the payment type
6. After you enter all of the information required, you'll be asked to verify your Apple ID by email. You must verify your Apple ID before you can begin using it.
Can a family share an Apple iTunes ID? Yes for personal purchases, students will be given a Proctor Apple iTunes ID for school book and apps
Will an iPad Mini suffice? No, we are not recommending the iPad Mini for academic use due to the smaller screen size.
What if my student breaks their iPad, computer, or phone? Proctor has an Apple Certified Technician on staff who will provide support for iPads, laptops, iPhones and any other technology that your son or daughter brings to Proctor. Service for equipment that has an Apple warranty will be performed at no charge. AppleCare+ charges $49/iPad and $99/laptop for the first two incidents. If an iPad or laptop is out of warranty, a rate for repair of $50/hr plus parts not covered by warranty will apply. Proctor will provide a loaner if a repair takes longer than two hours. Students are responsible for theft or damage to loaners due to misuse or neglect.

Can my son or daughter bring a desktop computer to Proctor? Yes, students are allowed to bring desktops to Proctor.
Does the school support PC’s or Windows based computers? Yes, students can bring an addition computer of their choice but they must have either an iPad or Apple laptop to use for classroom work when required.
