VA TO HOLD 2K WALK TO SUPPORT HOMELESS VETERANS

The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center will host the 5th annual VA2K Walk and

Roll on May 20 to encourage healthy activity and support homeless Veterans with donated clothing items. The VA2K Walk and Roll is free and open to the public.

The event will start at the north end of the medical center near the entrance to

Honor Heights Park and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The registration table opens at 10:30 a.m.

While there is no registration fee, participants are asked to donate items to support homeless Veterans such as: strong backpacks (used are ok if in good condition); new full-size hygiene items to include shampoo/conditioner, liquid body soap, razors/shaving cream, deodorant; new socks and underwear. However, donations are optional.

Participants are also encouraged to wear yellow to promote obesity awareness.

The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center is located in Muskogee at 1011

Honor Heights Dr. Additional off-site parking is also available at Love-Hatbox Sports

Complex, located at 34th Street and Arline Street. Shuttles are available to and from the hospital from 6:15 am to 7:45 pm. Pick up is every 15-20 minutes.
