General Membership Meeting

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES JULY 1, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Commodore Maze.

The minutes of June 2, 2014 meeting was read, corrected, and approved.

Treasurer Weaver reported income of $3,399.91 and expenses of $9,398.50 for a net loss of $5,998.59. Cash on hand is $127,550.46. This was moved, seconded and approved.

V/C Halliburton said that all insurance papers are up to date.

R/C Dalton said the storage areas are better but need to be finished. All trailers in storage area need names on them. This is a fine-able offense.

F/C Langer thanked the people who “did not” help. We need to get started on getting Sandy Tuggle’s dock in the water as promised to her. This needs to be done on Saturdays as all work party time is.

P/C Roberti, Trustees, apologized for sending out the Commodores Ball invites with no price on them. The price is $25 and the dates are August 16 & 17. Drop dead date for reservations is the week before the gathering. Friday night is a cook-out by Dennis Sanzobrino.

Gary Thrasher, Membership, presented Aaron Seymour before the members as a new associate member. He was brought in under the fast track. Donald Howell was introduced to become a new full member. He was sponsored by Josh Stamos, and works for Dominion East Ohio and has a 25’ Sundancer. A motion was made to accept Josh, seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

P.C Exley, Programs, said the old pavilion is being torn down now. The new pavilion material was ordered today. Construction will start next week. We need everyone involved to get this done.

Tim Bartell, for Programs, stated the pavilion needs to get done in time for Regatta. The 4 th of July breakfast with wrong menu went out twice. It will be pancakes and sausage with fruit. Regatta will be the last weekend of July and we need help. Donations are needed for the booze raffle. There are forms here, please pick one up and fill it out. August 9 will be the Dock Crawl. Maggie Cessna and Ron Glowacki will be chairing the event.

Tim Bartel, Cruise Director, has a trip planned July 12 & 13 to Old River Yacht Club. Get your name in as soon as possible to reserve dockage. August 29 – September 1 we will be in Cleveland Harbor for the Air Show. No docks will be arranged. This will be an anchor out event.

John Crawford for the Special Incorporation Committee, contacted other law firms for quotes. Meetings are set with several other yacht clubs to see how they are set up.

Dave Turner, for Attendance, apologized for not getting the up-dates posted and sent to the webmaster. He asked the members who don’t have a number to make sure they sign the sheets anyway to get credit for time served. Wi-fi from Time Warner contracts are coming and will be given to the trustees. Estimated time to be in place in the next 30-45 days.

Jack Savage announced drawings for 2 bottles and the first 400 club drawings are tonight.

Marilyn Weaver, for the Ladies Auxiliary, reported a profit of $6,000 for the Ladies Salad Luncheon. She thanked the membership for all of the donations. The Ladies will help decorate the clubhouse for Regatta with the Christmas decorations. The kids Halloween party in October will be the next event.

John Ollila, ILYA, stated the schedule is on the bulletin board.

Important Dates: Next Board of Directors meeting is 9/2914 at 7:00 pm, Next General Membership meeting is 8/5/14 at 7:30 pm, Special Board Meeting is 7/7/14 at 7:00 pm

OLD BUSINESS The lull cylinders are being rebuilt and 4 hoses need to be replaced. Dave Roberti will be in England starting Thursday for 4 months.

NEW BUSINESS None.

BUSINESS FOR THE GOOD Lee Okerwall wanted the second Dumpster on the island removed.

Jim Varsey wanted to know if a dumpster could be placed at the wet well area where it used to be.

Jim Chaplin reminded all of us about the 4th of July Breakfast.

Western Reserve Yacht Club is doing their dinghy poker run on July 19th staring at noon. Information will be posted.

Jeff Smith reminded us that the police and USCG will be out in force this weekend for operating and drinking.

Guests were introduced and raffles were held. 400 Club $75 winners are: Ken Krstolic Jim Chaplin Bob Smith Bob Jahmarky Thomas Fazehas John Ritek

No further business being submitted, it was moved we adjourn. Motion was seconded and passed. This very speedy meeting was adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
