LMA Membership Application Form

The LMA was formed in 1982 to represent the interests of those who build and fly large model aircraft, and is the only organisation devoted entirely to this branch of the hobby which is recognised by the Civil Aviation Authority as a representative body.

Among our members we have some of the most experienced modellers in the country so there's always someone ready to give help and or advice on any aspect of the hobby.

 The subscription fee includes insurance tailored to the particular needs of large models.

 The LMA Journal is distributed quarterly and contains articles, technical reports, news, etc.

 On joining you will receive a constitution, handbook, and a copy of a recent journal.

 LMA Displays, Fly-ins, Seminars and Day Schools are organised throughout the season in many parts of the country and are noted for their blend of informality, friendliness and competent organisation. We are also associated with most of the other big rallies held throughout the country where large models are flown.

 A Proficiency scheme designed to promote the safe flying of large models at public events.

 An inspection and certification scheme for models weighing over 20Kg to ensure that the methods employed in the design and construction of these very large models result in an airworthy aircraft.

 An archive panel who are available to help members in the research of new projects.

 An organised structure which can put you in touch with fellow members both locally and nationally.
