WYATT FOR 12 HER DEDICATED LEADERSHIP AND THOROUGH SENSE 13 OF RESPONSIBILITY AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE SOUTH 14 CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AT THE 15 NORTHSIDE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION IN 16 SPARTANBURG. 17 18 Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have become 19 aware of the exceptional job performance of Shannon L. Wyatt at 20 the South Carolina Department of Corrections Northside 21 Correctional Institution in Spartanburg; and 22 23 Whereas, Shannon Wyatt’s current duties include supervising 24 inmates and responding to their problems, conducting security 25 checks and inmate counts, performing inspections and searches, 26 preparing and submitting written reports, and maintaining safety 27 and sanitation standards; and 28 29 Whereas, Ms. Wyatt’s leadership has been appreciated among 30 professional associations as she received the Officer of the Fourth 31 Quarter at Northside in 2000 and was chosen as the Correctional 32 Officer of the Year for 2000; and 33 34 Whereas, Shannon Wyatt has a wonderful willingness to help her 35 co-workers and do what is best for the institution. She worked 36 long hours and volunteered assistance during the institution’s 37 detailed reaccreditation process in October 2000, and works 38 various shifts when needed; and 39 40 Whereas, Ms. Wyatt demonstrates professionalism with inmates, 41 their families, the general public, and other staff. She displays 42 leadership qualities and provides a positive working environment

1 [4779] 1 1 by correcting problems and making improvements on her own 2 initiative; and 3 4 Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General 5 Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they might 6 recognize and honor Shannon L. Wyatt for her positive 7 contributions through her employment at the South Carolina 8 Department of Corrections. Now, therefore, 9 10 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 11 concurring: 12 13 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 14 Carolina, by this resolution, commend and honor Shannon L. 15 Wyatt for her dedicated leadership and thorough sense of 16 responsibility as an employee of the South Carolina Department of 17 Corrections at the Northside Correctional Institution in 18 Spartanburg. 19 20 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 21 Ms. Shannon L.
