Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology
Student Engagement Grant (up to $500)
Description The purpose of this grant is to support extra-curricular activities of Criminal Justice and Criminology students and to help facilitate their greater involvement in a wide range of criminal justice-related activities in Toronto, in Canada, and internationally. Grants are given to support planning, organizing, and implementing projects as well as for attending and/or presenting at conferences and other activities. Student Engagement Grants have a maximum of $500 per application per year.
What are the Criteria? Applications are adjudicated according to two key criteria: first, that the application supports students’ professional and/or educational advancement in the criminal justice field (broadly defined); and second, that the application adheres to the department’s values of equity, respect, and human dignity.
Who Can Apply? All Ryerson Criminal Justice and Criminology students and affiliated groups are eligible to apply for funding to support their projects, extra-curricular engagements, and organizing activities. Students may apply as an individual or as a group.
How to Apply? Students must complete the attached application form in full. Incomplete applications will be sent back to the student for completion, which will delay the announcement of result.
When to Submit? Applications are accepted on a continuous basis; students may submit their applications once they are complete. Results will normally be announced within six weeks.
