Step 2: Review the numerous ethical tension points that many whistleblowers struggle with on page 169 in the Ethics in Human Communication book. Place yourself in Snowden’s shoes and answer as many questions as you can from his perspective. Use as much of the factual information as you can from the two videos above. If you feel the need to search additional sources on Snowden in order to obtain additional information, please do so.
Step 3: Next, compose a 3 minute video stating whether you believe Snowden was ethical or not. Justify your position by using the information you created in step two. Try to keep your presentation focused on facts and not simply your feelings.
Criteria for Video Presentation 1. Did student create a video discussing whether they believed Snowden was ethical? 2 = yes 1 = somewhat 0 = no
2. Did student address at least three questions from page 169? 2 = yes 1= somewhat 0 = no
3. Did student use more facts than simply stating their opinions to support their position? 2 = yes 1 = somewhat 0 = no
4. Did student create a video that was at least 3 minutes but no more than 4 minutes? 4 pts = 3 to 4 min 3 pts = 2 to 2:59 min 2pts = 1 to 1:59 min 1 pt = 59 min or less 4:01 to 4:59 5 to 5:59 6 min plus
Case Study 1 -Part II– -5 points, if don’t respond
After students post their video-presentations, respond to one classmate’s video by considering whether the classmate’s presentation seemed logical, factually based, and whether you agree with his or her overall position and why.

Step 2: As you are reading the above book, think about the ethics of the police, the American judicial system, and the American public, including the media. Think about how we treat and view suspects. Moreover, think about how our constitutional rights are threatened when we don’t treat people ethically. (Note: At this point, you don’t have submit your thoughts in writing. You will for Part II —see below.)
Step 3: Take the 10 question quiz. Each question is worth 1 point. The quiz can be downloaded at our class website. When you are ready to submit your answers, go to our Blackboard classroom and click on the appropriate test link. When the test appears, fill in your answers and submit them via Blackboard. See syllabus for due date.
Case Study 2 - Part II– minus 10 points, if don’t complete After reading Duane’s book, write a reflective post on our Blackboard discussion board that contains at least three paragraphs. At least one paragraph should address each of the following: (1) How has your perspective changed or remain consistent regarding how you view people who have been arrested now that you have read the Duane book? (2) In the future, how you will analyze news stories of people accused of crimes? (3) How has your own behaviors changed or might change as a result of reading this book?

Step 2: Pretend you are the assistant to Richard Edelman from Edelman’s public relations firm. He has assigned you with the task of writing a press release to address the case study situation.
Step 3: Before you write the press release to deal with the situation addressed within the case study, review your own personal code of ethics and review the Public Relations Society of America Code.

If you post a press release addressing the Walmart blog, then you will get full credit for this assignment.
Case Study 3 -Part II– minus 5 points, if don’t respond
After students post their press releases, respond to at least one student’s press release as if you were a Walmart shopper and voice your opinion as to whether you appreciate what the press release stated or if you are upset by the comments made.
