Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held in The Rising Sun on 12th December 2016

Present: Councillors:- Mike Coleman (Chairman) Chris Leaper (Vice-Chair) Nick Church. Janet Jeffrie District Cllr.Trevor Bartlett Pat Coleman (Clerk) 11 Members of the public.

Apologies: None

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST No changes to declarations were made.

DISTRICT COUNCILLORS REPORT: Cllr. Bartlett advised of free parking in the District over the Christmas period and the new refuse collection dates which had been sent out to residents.

The Energy Saving Scheme is now up and running and details of how to join can be found on the DDC website and the relevant posters are to be displayed on the noticeboards.

He gave updates on the proposed works in the District:

Kearsney Abbey. Russell Gardens and the proposed Learning Centre for Schools. Dover Leisure Centre is at the tendering stage. Dover Waterfront Work is to be carried out. Maison Dieu Revamp a Lottery Bid has been made. DDC are also considering borrowing money to invest in property.

Cllr. Bartlett was going to look into the problems that we have had with the emptying of our Dog Bins. There was a discussion regarding Fly Tipping.

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING Minutes of the last meeting had been circulated to Councillors and were agreed and signed by the Chairman.

MATTERS ARISING: DEFIBRILLATORS: ONGOING Clerk TELEPHONE KIOSK AT WEST STOURMOUTH – BT have agreed that this can be purchased for £1.00 and have sent an Agreement.

VILLAGE IMPROVEMENTS AREA AROUND THE NOTICEBOARD: Mr Bligh was thanked for the work that he has so far carried out. Mick from Little Stour Orchard was also thanked for supplying the slabs ONGOING FINGERPOSTS: Details of requirements have been sent to Cllr Kirkaldie ONGOING DISABLED FRIENDLY FOOTPATH: - ONGOING KCC: – Speed Limit in School Lane - ONGOING

FOOTPATHS: Fault Number: PROW301222: A further blocked footpath. ONGOING Footpath PROW289975: EE131 broken posts. ONGOING Stourmouth to Preston Footpath: Once again copies of all correspondence has been taken to the site office. To date no response has been received. ONGOING. West Stourmouth Broken Sign Post: This will again be reported to KCC. ONGOING.

CORRESPONDENCE Various items of correspondence had been circulated to Councillors before the meeting.

FINANCE The following cheques have been paid since the last meeting:  Stripy Lawns – Churchyard Mowing £21.50  Stripy Lawns – Churchyard mowing £21.50 Proposed that these be paid by Cllr. Leaper and Seconded by Cllr. Jeffrie

PLANNING The following applications have been given permission by DDC  The Anchorage  Windridge  Wilbron – The caravan has been removed from the site.

PUBLIC DISCUSSION: Various pot holes at East and West Stourmouth to be reported to KCC.

Mr David Jeffrie has volunteered to be the Snow Warden for School Lane, East Stourmouth. Anyone wishing to become a Snow Warden in West Stourmouth should contact DDC.
