:11-15 I. We have a fellowship to enjoy.

“There we found brothers….” :14 A. We take each other in. “…and were invited to stay with them for seven days. And so we came to Rome.”

cf. Matthew 25:35; Acts 2:44, 45; 4:32, 34, 35; Romans 12:13; Galatians 6:10, III John 5-8 :15a B. We lift each other up. “And the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us.” cf. I Samuel 23:16; I Thessalonians 4:18; 5:11 :15b C. We thrust each other out. “On seeing them, Paul thanked God and took courage.” cf. Hebrews 10:24, 25

:16-22 II. We have a job to do. :16 A. In every circumstance “And when we came into Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier that guarded him.” cf. Philippians 1:12-14 :17 B. In God’s way “After three days he called together the local leaders of the Jews….” cf. Romans 1:16; Acts 3:26

:23 III. We have a story to tell. “From morning till evening he explained and declared to them….” A. The Kingdom of God cf. Mark 1:14, 15; Matthew 3:2; 4:17; 6:33 B. Jesus in the Scriptures cf. Luke 24:27, 45-47; John 5:40; Romans 1:2; 3:21; I Corinthians 15:3

:24-28 IV. We have a burden to bear. :24 A. Some do not believe. “And some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved.” cf. Mark 4:1-20; II Corinthians 2:15, 16; 4:3, 4 :25 B. The Word hardens. “And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: ‘The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet.…’” cf. Matthew 13:14, 15; John 12:40 :28 C. We go on.

We have a world to win. :30 A. Continually “He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him…” cf. I Corinthians 10:31 :31a B. Catechetically “…teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ….” cf. Matthew 11:29; Acts 2:42; Ephesians 4:20; Colossians 1:7 :32b C. Courageously “…with all boldness and without hindrance.” cf. I Samuel 17; Proverbs 28:1; II Timothy 1:7
