1. Provide staff development on bully prevention so that staff members are able to use it daily when working with students. 2. Educate students by providing resources that teach coping skills, strategies, and problem solving skills. 3. Be a driving force to involve and inform parents of teacher/staff development, school activities, and involvement around bully issues.

The purpose of the meeting on Aug. 10 will be to plan out the activities for the 2015-16 school year. We will use the Teaching Tolerance web-site as a resource, in addition to others.

Accomplishments by the End of the School Year

1. The Bully Prevention Task Force will focus on “social media” education during the 2015-16 school year. 2. Provide students and staff members with information regarding the “Social Media” world: --clear definition of bullying & cyberbullying (activities handbook) --coping skills/strategies --empathy development 3. Provide information to parents through twitter, CUB Nation, and the district APP, in regards to the Teaching Tolerance Journal subscription, quarterly activities, school resources and programs. In addition, provide resources for parents that assist monitoring and supervising of children on social media. *Reviewing the possibility of John Hohn being the speaker at the Title I Parent Mtng. in the spring.

Review Sept. Internet Assemblies CES *Went very well. *Students as well as adults learned something new. *Good discussions in classrooms CHS/CMS *Knew quite a bit of the information, good refresher *Students were focused in on presentation Parents *5 parents attended at CHS/CMS *Appreciated the session. Would like to have some preventative ideas (Apps, etc.)

Review Plan for 2nd Quarter K. DeJong and C. Tyrell discussed possible plans for the week. CES: Relationship Week-Oct 26-30, Brochure/flyer for parents at P/T Conferences CHS/CMS: See if L. Schlaffman has brochure for P/t Conferences

Review of Possible Bullying Situations @ Schools CES: Not aware of any situations at the present time. A parent had e-mailed about a situation that began last year and interventions were done so that behavior did not continue this year. CHS/CMS: One situation was checked into. “One time” deal and no pattern developed. Awareness of when substitute teachers are in the room and possible situations that could occur.
