Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle and valid driver’s license required (Domestic and international travel is required since our services include on-site system installation for our customers). Education: Completion of a two- or three-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology, computer engineering technology, telecommunications technology or an equivalent Experience: Minimum of one year of hands-on experience working as an electrical or electronics engineering technologists (preferably in automated control system design and troubleshooting) Languages: Speak English, Read English Job Duties: Design, develop and test industrial process control systems and micro-electronic systems; Supervise the building and testing of prototypes according to general instructions and established standards; Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electronic equipment and systems for specialized automation/linear transfer; Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies and systems; Program and implement industrial process control systems for multi-axis servo systems, motion controllers, networks, and computer software; Write specifications, schedules and technical reports and control schedules and budgets. Knowledge, experience and skills required: HMI/SCADA system development and programming, PLC programming and troubleshooting; Document development, design changes and functionality documents, report writing; Support Service Department; PLC structured text, SFC and ladder design and programming; Strong experience working with PLC’s, HMI’s, Motion Controllers and Servo Drives (especially programming) and experience with cam motion development; Strong knowledge of PC based control systems, embedded systems and database applications; Working knowledge of standard industrial communication protocols such as Devicenet, Ethernet, Profibus, EtherCAT; Ability to read control circuits; Experience with any of the following; Siemens (S7, Simotion), Allen-Bradley (Compactlogix, Controllogix), Bosch-Rexroth (Indramat – MLC) and Mitsubishi Q series is a strong asset; Experience in programming using C+, C++, Visual Basic, .NET and /or C# for HMI applications is a strong asset Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Continuous learning.
