WAREHOUSE ASSISTANTS (multiple positions), G-3 The Logistics Centre UNICEF Supply Division (Fixed Term Appointment)

Duty Station: Copenhagen, Denmark

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks Warehouse Assistants at the G-3 level for Fixed Term Appointments in the Supply Division’s The Logistics Centre (TLC).

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Under the close supervision of the Warehouse Supervisors and Chief of Warehouse, carries out the receiving, storage, packing and loading of shipments to and from UNICEF’s warehouse in Copenhagen.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Carries out the loading and un-loading of trucks and containers.

2. Carries out the receiving of shipments into the warehouse including quality control of palletization, packing and labelling of incoming shipments.

3. Undertakes the transfer of goods into the warehouse for storage.

4. Processes the picking requests from the warehouse.

5. Undertakes the packing of sets, UNICEF kits and individual items into boxes on the various assembly lines. This also includes the prepack and the bulk packing function.

6. Ensures the labelling, stacking and palletization of the packed boxes according to the customers’ requests.

7. Performs general warehouse maintenance including cleaning of the warehouse with the sweeping and washing machine.

8. Participates in the annual physical inventory count.

9. Performs any other duties as requested by the Supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

1 Education: Completion of secondary education

Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehousing

Competencies:  Forklift certificate  Basic computer skills (SAP/WMS and TEKRF systems). Lotus Notes and Microsoft Excel are recommendable.  Understanding of GDP procedures.  Good team player  Emotional competencies  Flexible and open-minded  Respect for multi-cultural work environment  Capable of working under stress  Have a drive for results  Good at taking initiative

Languages: Must be able to work in an English work language environment
