JRS is one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading building envelope and roof consulting firms. We have offices in Seattle, Washington; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Calgary, Alberta. Currently, we are seeking a motivated individual to join our growing team in Seattle as a Building Science Consultant and Project Manager.
The Building Science Consultant/Project Manager position is responsible for every aspect of his/her assigned projects and staff. This includes technical reports, strategic operational budgets, providing superior client service, and possessing technical knowledge of waterproofing, roofing, and building science fundamentals. As a Project Manager you will be expected to work effectively with staff and clients to continually promote and foster JRS’s corporate culture and growth. The person in this position will be primarily involved with construction phase projects. He/she will be responsible for reviewing site work, attending pre-construction meetings and mock-ups, reviewing submittals and RFIs, issuing supplemental sketches, conducting or assisting in conducting window and air barrier tests, and writing reports. Other Requirements: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or other building constructionrelated field
- 5 years experience in building science and/or building design
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to comprehend the scope of each project
- Strong management, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Experience collaborating with contractors, architects, and consultants

- Excellent skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
- An interest in energy-related building issues and building science

Key Responsibilities: - Manage client expectations and deliverables
- Monitor assigned resources for compliance with scope and budget
- Provide technical building science expertise
- Maintain knowledge of the scope of work/scope of services
- Maintain awareness of the project team’s activities and project status
- Advise client(s) of required changes in services/scope
- Communicate assignments, tasks and deadlines to all staff
- Review projects and assignments with staff to ensure accuracy and schedules
- Review and issue monthly project billing
- Ensure profitability and accounts are up to date
- Coordinate internal reviews in accordance with latest policies and practices
- Report possible changes in scope and risk issues to Principal in Charge/project Professional of Record
- Identify potential issues (scope or construction) for discussion with team or principal(s)
- Ensure services are compliant with scope and current JRS company standards and procedures
