CAUCUS MEETING JULY 21, 2015 9:45 AM Members Present: Present were Mayor Patrick Rosenello, President of Council Salvatore Zampirri, Councilpersons Edwin Koehler, Margaret Bishop and James Kane. Councilpersons David Del Conte, Joseph Rullo and Kellyann Tolomeo were not present. Also present were City Administrator Kevin Yecco, Solicitor William Kaufmann and Engineer Ralph Petrella. TOM BYRNE of the J. Byrne Agency stated that he and colleague Joseph Meola are present today to give an annual stewardship report regarding the activities of the Agency and the City in the Atlantic County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund. The report has been distributed to Mayor and Council. The Safety Incentive Program is an important part of the Agency’s activities. Exposure data is collected and reviewed regularly. Claims and questions are researched. Joe Meola reviews and approves all Certificates of Insurance that are submitted for Special Events and he also attends JIF Meetings. We are confident that the City of North Wildwood made a good decision to join the ACMJIF a number of years ago. The MEL is concerned with making safety a high priority not only in local governments but also in the communities. The City’s Safety Committee does a tremendous job and helps keep premiums low. We look forward to working together with the City and the ACMJIF in the future. PAUL MIOLA, Executive Director of the Atlantic County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, distributed to Mayor and Council the 2015 Renewal Information Report. The Byrne Agency does an outstanding job with its member municipalities. They are the best of all the Risk Management Consultants. Miola reviewed the 2015 Report, highlighting the fact that the JIF is the most successful of all Shared Services. More than $1 Billion has been saved for members over the years. The ACMJIF is stable financially, with over $46 Million in reserves, and has returned to members more than $25 Million in dividends over the years. There is high level of accountability and strong control of budgets in the ACMJIF. Member municipalities work together to reduce exposure. North Wildwood ranks very high when compared with other municipalities on Loss Ratios, and the City has experienced a 14% reduction in premiums since last renewal. The ACMJIF manages litigation, runs consistent safety programs, and has instituted cyber liability coverage. Other JIFs have limited member input and are not financially stable. The ACMJIF considers itself the best and the results are available to show why. It is a good idea to renew membership in the ACMJIF today. On motion by Bishop, seconded by Koehler, that caucus adjourn. Carried. 10:00 AM REGULAR MEETING JULY 21, 2015 10:00 AM A regular meeting of the North Wildwood City Council was held on the morning of the above date in the City Hall.
