2010 HOMECOMING FLOAT RULES

THEME: Cereals Seniors – Lucky Charms Juniors – Captain Crunch Sophomores – Fruity Pebbles Freshmen – Fruit Loops

The Homecoming Parade will be Thursday, October 21st at 6 p.m. (lineup will be in front of the Bellefonte Elementary School at 5:30 p.m.) The following is a list of rules that are to be followed without exception. Each judge will be given a copy. If your float varies from any of these rules it will be disqualified. Good luck and have fun.

1. All students participating with the float must be in a theme-related costume or wearing Bellefonte clothing including red and white.

2. Signs must be displayed on both sides of the float indicating your class and cereal.

3. Use good taste-no promotion of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, obscene or offensive actions will be tolerated. See the Student Handbook for guidelines.

4. Be creative. Costumes, props and signs are permitted and encouraged! Remember no open flames or fireworks of any kind will be permitted.

5. Every float must be on a wagon or flatbed truck (size limit- Standard flatbed- 20 feet)

6. Each float must have a skirt.

7. Do not use spray paint at the parade line-up area.

8. Each class is responsible for totally clearing away all float materials after the parade. Garbage is not to be left on the ground. Custodians will not throw it away for you. (No exceptions!)

9. If you are planning to throw candy please do so underhand and with care. Absolutely No lollipops!

10. Each float must be at the Bellefonte Elementary school no later than 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Hoffman will notify you of the parade order and location of your float.

11. At the conclusion of the parade, the floats ARE NOT to be parked at the field. Clean them off, throw away the garbage and remove them from school property the evening of the parade. You will be directed where to go to tear down your float.

The winning class will receive $50 for each spirit award won. See next page for the spirit categories.
