ITEM DISCUSSION ACTION 1. Approval of Agenda and Minutes of Prior Meeting Discussion by Austin Sumner Motion by Caroline Tassey to Amend Regarding Amending Agenda Agenda, 2nd by Mary Hart, All in Favor.

Amend Agenda to include: Drug Awareness: Needle Disposal and Needle Safety

Chair’s Report: Volunteer Participation to assist BPH

Neighborhood Safety: Isham St Community Event – Possible BOH Funding for Playmobile

HLHL: Update on Approval of Elect Dept Pesticide Application Minutes

Julie Hathaway amended Minutes Motion by Mary Hart to approve Amended Needles/Sharps section Minutes, 2nd by Mary Hart, all in favor. Create Committee to make some progress on the issue before potential Council turnover. 2. Public Forum/Emerging Issues

Senior Assistant Eugene Bergman attended to update BOH members on recent changes to Vermont Open Meeting Law; Act 143 (5/23/14)

Attorney Bergman addressed: Public Body Action item: Purpose of Open Meetings Definition of Meeting William Ward to contact Scott Shrader re: Accessible Meetings burlingtonvt.gov e-mails for Board of Attendance without being physically Health members to use when conduction present BOH business. Neighborhood Safety Initiative Julie Hathaway

Isham St Neighborhood event to bring together neighbors and students/tenants 9/13/14

Board of Health can participate by sponsoring the Rec Dept. Playmobile for site and one hour of face painting.

BOH can also have a table at the event for HLHL Motion:

Mary Hart: Move to contribute $250.00 to provide support for Isham Street Neighborhood event. Julie Hathaway 2nd All in favor.

Second Motion – Caroline Tassey Drug Awareness $250.00 to be provided for Parks and Rec’s Playmobile ($200.00) and one hour of face painting ($50.00). Also Event to include a table for Booard of Health and be included in advertising for the event as appropriate.

Food Safety Caroline Tassey: Farmers Markets Motion to table Food Safety Other Licensing Committee No Report

Drug Awareness

Needle Update: Julie Hathaway updated BOH members re: Discussion re ongoing Fact Finding By Committee.

Neighborhood Safety Committee was meeting at same time as BOH at City Hall

Environmental Health Motion: Discussion of Urgent Vote taken by e-mail Caroline Tassey: Healthy Lawns re: Burlington Electic Dept Pesticide William Ward, Health Officer to confirm Urgent need application that urgent meeting re: Burlington Electric 3, yay votes: Mary Hart , Caroline Tassey Pesticide Application was consistent with and David Casey. Public Meeting Law and report back next Austin Sumner abstained BOH meeting. Julie Hathaway voted No 2nd: Mary Hart, All in favor.
