Target Audience This program has been designed for physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, researchers and lab members in hematology.

Series Educational Objectives After completing this activity, participants should be able to:  Appropriately diagnose and treat patients with thalassemia  Appropriately diagnose and manage patients with transfusion needs  Improve recognition and management of the bone marrow failure disorders Session Educational Objectives After completing this activity, participants should be able to:  Discuss the transmission, pathogenesis and public health impact of falciparum malaria  Explain the rational vaccine design approaches for infectious diseases Accreditation Physicians: The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is accredited by the Accreditation Council For Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
