London Junior Chess Championships Children should bring a packed lunch. Those gaining the following target scores or higher at this tournament will qualify for the London Junior Some training will be available on the day. This is not a knockout tournament; all 10th December 2016 – sections will be run as a standard Swiss. All children Wiltshire Congress, venue TBC will play 6 games, each player will be allowed 30 9:00am to 6:00pm minutes per game. Wiltshire County Squad The results of this tournament will be used as part of the selection criteria for the Wiltshire U9 and U11 London Junior Chess county teams. There is an additional cost of £3.00 for children who are not members of the ECF at silver/gold level, to cover grading costs. There is a late entry fee of £2.00. Please note that trophies will only be awarded to Wiltshire players. The number of cash prizes and the amount of each prize will depend on the number of entries. Every player will be awarded a certificate. There will be medals for the players in the U8,U10 and U12 section who are getting 50% or more but not winning a trophy. If there is a tie for a section trophy, it will be broken by sum of progressive scores. Cash prizes will be shared. Grading All games will be submitted for Rapid Play grading. The ECF publishes the grading list on their website. If you wish to have your grading details withheld from the website version, please contact the ECF; www.englishchess.org.uk

Disputes Any disputes will be referred to the Chief Arbiter, whose decision will be final.

Disclaimer Parents and friends are welcome to stay, but should note that only stewards and players will be allowed in the playing rooms. Wiltshire Junior Chess will only provide adult supervision in the chess playing area and while games are in progress. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children during the Tournament, the organisers and helpers are not to act “in loco parentis” and are not able to take responsibility for any child’s actions, or for the actions of anyone that may affect your child.
