Padres Choir Rides Itinerary

Padres_Choir_Rides_Itinerary

Dear Parents of choir students who are singing at Petco Park Wednesday night:

We're excited and looking forward to this performance! One or two issues:

Those parents who are driving their students and no other students may simply get to the park on your own, so that we may gather by 5:45 pm at the corner of Park Blvd and Tony Gwynn Drive (Southeast side of ballpark). We can't be late!

Students who need rides, and those parents who have been kind enough to offer rides to students, must meet at Marshall Middle School prior to leaving for the game. These students must also be dropped off at Marshall Middle School after the game, and picked up at Marshall by their parent/guardian. This is to ensure that all students are safe and accounted for. Please have your student at the school by 4:20 at the latest. We will leave no later than 4:30. If this seems early, we need to make sure we are lined up outside Petco Park at 5:45, having parked, and having made it downtown through rush-hour traffic. Students may stay after school until that time if they like. I will be here and the choir room will be open. Students staying after school should make sure they have appropriate dress with them or get it after school.

We need to leave Petco Park by 9:45 pm regardless of whether the game has finished or not. This is both due to the fact that this is a school night, and because we need to get back to school by 10:30 to drop off students. Parents whose children need rides, please be at Marshall no later than 10:30pm to pick up your kids!

Dress Code: Please have all singers wear white collared shirts or blouses, black pants or skirts, black shoes and socks (no sandals or flip flops).

The information sheet for the game (dress code, itinerary for rehearsal) can be found on my choir webpage on the school's website, or here: http://www.marshallmiddle.org/apps/pages/index.jsp? uREC_ID=14109&type=d&pREC_ID=classes

Rehearsal: Please have all choir singers meet at the corner of Park Blvd and Tony Gwynn Drive (south-east side of ballpark) at 5:45pm. Rehearsal will take place from 6:15pm-6:30pm. Singers will be led on to the field promptly at 6:30pm. Performance will begin at approximately 6:50pm.

We are expecting a large group of choir students. Please arrive no later than 5:45pm so we can get everyone organized and begin rehearsal on time.

Singers will enter the field through the Western Metal Tunnel on the west side of the ballpark on 7th Avenue for the performance. After the performance, singers will exit the same way they came in through the Western Metal Tunnel and can re-enter Petco Park through the Gaslamp Gate on 7th Avenue at K Street. Singers should keep their game ticket in their possession before, during, and after the performance.

Dress Code: Please have all singers wear white collared shirts or blouses, black pants or skirts, black shoes and socks (no sandals or flip flops).

Chaperones: We ask that the Choir Director from each participating choir and/or a volunteer or parent remain with the singers during the rehearsal. One Choir Director per school will be allowed to join the choir singers on the field for the performance, if they choose. If performing, Directors should follow the same dress code as students or wear all black.

Parking and Directions: Please visit the Petco Park Access page on our website at padres.com/transportation for information on parking and directions to Petco Park.
