Dear Parents and Aspirants for the Sacrament of Confirmation,

Welcome to the 2018 Confirmation Preparation Year.

We are pleased to provide you with the agenda and plans for the upcoming year of preparation for confirmation. The following is our schedule for this year. We will be meeting face to face once a month on the second Sunday of each month for a two hour class that will include class discussions on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We will be using the YouCat catechism, which was designed by Pope Benedict for our youth, and provides them a solid foundation on church teachings. Each of the three remaining weeks in the month your teen (and you) will receive an email with a lesson for the week from the DoCat. DoCat provides lessons that will focus on social justice issues as presented by Pope Francis. You and your teen will be asked to email a response to the weekly question to me and to Father Naples. Further information will be provided at our first meeting of the year on September 10th. One other essential experience for students is to be more directly involved in the liturgical life of the parish. There will be many parish programs and liturgies that can be enriched by the participation of our students, who will likewise be enriched themselves. Scheduling for liturgical participation will be provided in September. Class Schedule will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at St. Paul’s School 2d floor.

*September 10th *February 11th October 8th March 11th November 12th April 8th December 10th May 13th January 14th

*September is an all student AND parents with a pizza/ salad supper and a full overview of the upcoming year. We will create a communication form that includes emails and cell phone numbers at our first meeting on September 10th.

* February is the Winter Retreat 10:30 am – 5 pm (parents AND students for the day). It will be held in St. Johnsbury with students from multiple regions.
